Abstract

Methods for customizing products at a retail point of sale. A user interface is provided at the point of sale for selection of the desired product. Based upon the selection, ingredients are dispensed for making the personalized consumer product.

Claims

1. A method of forming a retail point of sale customized product, comprising:

a. providing a user interface for the selection of a cosmetic product selected from a moisturizing strips, dental bleach, hair remover, spot remover, stretch mark fading strip, expression line/wrinkle minimizer, lip plumper patch, acne treatment, scar minimizer, hair bleach, cellulite reducer, artistic/photograph/text image transfers in edible or non-edible formulations;

b. providing a dispenser in communication with the user interface, the dispenser being adapted to dispense one or more cosmetic ingredients selected from pigment, glitter product, powder, oil or water based solution, or combinations thereof;

c. selecting a customized cosmetic product using the user interface; and

d. dispensing one or more cosmetic ingredients via the cosmetic dispenser onto a substrate selected from plastic paper, fabric, or metal for forming the selected customized cosmetic product at the retail point of sale.

2. The methods of claim 1, wherein the substrate includes an adhesive backing and a protective layer opposite of the adhesive backing.

3. The methods of claim 1, wherein the substrate comprises a patch.

4. The methods of claim 1, wherein the user interface comprises a computer and is adapted to be used with a radio frequency identification device, a retinal scanner, a smart card, or a thumb print recognition system.

5. The methods of claim 1, wherein dispensing device includes nozzles, or syringes, inkjet printing technology or combinations thereof for the dispensing of the one or more cosmetic ingredient onto the substrate at the retail point of sale.

6. A method of forming a retail point of sale customized cosmetic product, comprising:

a. providing a user interface for the selection of a cosmetic product;

b. providing a retail point of sale dispenser in communication with the user interface, the dispenser being adapted to dispense one or more cosmetic ingredients selected from pigment, glitter product, powder, oil or water based solution, or combinations thereof;

c. selecting a customized cosmetic product using the user interface;

d. dispensing at the retail point of sale one or more liquid cosmetic ingredients via the cosmetic dispenser into a receptacle selected from a mold, pot, glass container, pencil casing or plastic applicator.

e. treating the liquid cosmetic ingredients at the retail point of sale by a step of cooling, vacuum packaging, microwaving, etching, coating or combinations thereof to form a customized cosmetic product selected from cosmetic sticks, eye crayons, lip pencils, cheek stain sticks, lipsticks, concealer sticks, foundation sticks, perfume sticks, sunscreen stick, deodorant stick, aromatherapy candles, hair removal sticks, shimmer sticks or scrub sticks; and

f. optionally, heating the one or more cosmetic ingredients at the retail point of sale prior to dispensing.

7. The methods of claim 6, wherein the user interface comprises a computer and is adapted to be used with a radio frequency identification device, retinal scanner, smart card, or thumb print recognition system.

8. A method of forming a retail point of sale customized cosmetic product, comprising:

a. providing a user interface at the retail point of sale for the selection of a product selected from an antibacterial towelette, moisturizing towelette, dental bleaching towelette, hair removal towelette, bronzer towelette, body shimmer towelette, hair shimmer/color towelette, makeup remover towelette, nail polish remover, acne treatment towelette, hair bleaching towelette, deodorant towelette, perfume towelette, sun protection towelette, exfoliation towelette or anti-aging towelette;

b. providing a dispenser at the retail point of sale in communication with the user interface, the dispenser being adapted to dispense one or more ingredients by spraying, printing, drawing, rolling or dipping;

c. selecting a customized product using the user interface at the retail point of sale;

d. dispensing at the retail point of sale one or more of the ingredients via the cosmetic dispenser onto a substrate selected from plastic, paper, sponge, paper, glass, fabric, or metal substrate for forming the selected customized product wherein dispensing of the one or more ingredients onto the substrate comprises spraying, printing, drawing, rolling or dipping; and

e. packaging at the retail point of sale of the substrate for delivery wherein the packaging is selected from paper, plastic, fabric, glass, or metal container/pouch.

9. The methods of claim 8, wherein the substrate comprises a towelette.

10. The methods of claim 8, wherein the user interface comprises a computer and is adapted to be used with a radio frequency identification device, retinal scanner, smart card, or thumb print recognition system.
