Abstract

Provided is a device for classifying at least one object with the aid of an environmental sensor system. The device classifies the at least one object on the basis of its velocity and acceleration, the device determining the velocity and the acceleration from a signal of the environmental sensor system.

11. A device for classifying at least one object with the aid of an environmental sensor system (30), wherein the device is configured such that the device classifies the at least one object (11) based on its velocity (VO) and acceleration, the device determining the velocity (VO) and the acceleration from at least one signal of the environmental sensor system (30).

12. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the acceleration is determined based on at least one reference acceleration.

13. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the acceleration is determined based on a time characteristic of a reference velocity (VE) and of the object velocity (VO).

14. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the device may be coupled to a restraint system (35) such that the restraint system (35) is controlled as a function of the classification of the at least one object.

15. The device as recited in claim 12, wherein the device may be coupled to a restraint system (35) such that the restraint system (35) is controlled as a function of the classification of the at least one object.

16. The device as recited in claim 13, wherein the device may be coupled to a restraint system (35) such that the restraint system (35) is controlled as a function of the classification of the at least one object.

17. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined with the aid of a reference velocity (VE).

18. The device as recited in claim 12, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined with the aid of a reference velocity (VE).

19. The device as recited in claim 13, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined with the aid of a reference velocity (VE).

20. The device as recited in claim 14, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined with the aid of a reference velocity (VE).

21. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined on the basis of a time characteristic of location information.

22. The device as recited in claim 12, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined on the basis of a time characteristic of location information.

23. The device as recited in claim 13, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined on the basis of a time characteristic of location information.

24. The device as recited in claim 14, wherein the velocity (VO) is determined on the basis of a time characteristic of location information.

25. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the environmental sensor system (30) has at least one photonic mixer device.

26. The device as recited in claim 12, wherein the environmental sensor system (30) has at least one photonic mixer device.

27. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the environmental sensor system (30) has a LIDAR system.

28. The device as recited in claim 12, wherein the environmental sensor system (30) has a LIDAR system.

29. The device as recited in claim 11, wherein the device is configured for outputting information to the driver, the output taking place as a function of the classification.

30. The device as recited in claim 29, wherein the information is outputted haptically.
