1. A vascular prosthesis for implantation in a body vessel, the vascular prosthesis comprising:

  • a helical section comprising a plurality of cells defining a plurality of turns, each turn having a distal edge and a proximal edge, the helical section configured to transition between a contracted delivery configuration, in which adjacent turns are wound down onto one another, and a deployed configuration, wherein cells disposed along the distal edge define a series of crests, cells disposed along the proximal edge define a series of complimentary troughs, and in the deployed configuration the series of crests interdigitate with the series of troughs.
