Abstract

An electronic card game provides an electronic card game to a plurality of players on an electronic card table. The electronic card table includes a table top with a playing surface and a plurality of electronic player interaction areas located around a periphery of the table top. Each electronic player interaction area provides a player interface for interaction with one of the players. A server computer administers the electronic card at the electronic card table using electronic cards and electronic chips. The electronic card table reports information regarding play of the electronic card game to the server computer. The server computer stores the information in a database.

Claims

1. A method for providing an electronic card game on an electronic card table, the electronic card table having a table, a plurality of electronic player interface areas and a server computer, the table has a playing surface, the electronic player interaction areas are located around a periphery of the table top, each electronic player interaction area providing a player interface for interaction with one of the players, the server computer being coupled to the plurality of electronic player interaction areas, comprising:

dealing at least one hand of the electronic card game composed of electronic cards;

allowing the players to make wagers during at least one betting round of each hand using electronic chips;

adding any wagers to a pot;

determining a winner of the at least one hand of the electronic card game and awarding the pot to the winner; and

,

reporting information regarding the hand to the server computer; and

,

storing the information regarding the hand in the database.

2. A method, as set forth in claim 1, wherein the stored information regarding the at least one hand includes the players playing in the hand, cards dealt to the players, the wagers made by the players, the pot, and the winner of the pot.

3. A method, as set forth in claim 2, including the step of electronically shuffling a deck of electronic cards at the beginning of each hand.

4. A method, as set forth in claim 3, wherein the stored information regarding the at least one hand includes at least one of the order of cards in the shuffled deck of electronic cards, cards dealt to each player, and any community cards dealt.

5. A method, as set forth in claim 4, wherein the stored information regarding the at least one hand allows the hand to be recreated.

6. A method, as set forth in claim 1, including the step of allowing the stored information to be viewed and/or printed.

7. A method, as set forth in claim 6, wherein the stored information may be viewed and/or printed from the perspective of at least one of the players.

8. A method, as set forth in claim 6, including the step of allowing the stored information to be filtered.

9. A method, as set forth in claim 6, including the step of allowing at least one player to view and/or print the stored information from a remote computer coupled to the server computer.

10. A method, as set forth in claim 6, including the step of allowing the stored information to be view and/or printed from the perspective of the at least one electronic card table.

11. A method, as set forth in claim 6, including the step of allowing the stored information to be view and/or printed from the perspective of a plurality of electronic card tables at one location.

12. A method, as set forth in claim 1, including the step of determining the number of hands administered per hour and/or revenue generated per hour on a card table or group of card tables basis.

20. A system, as set forth in claim 12, the server computer allowing the stored information to be filtered.

21. A system, as set forth in claim 12, further comprising a computer coupled to the server computer for allowing at least one player to view and/or print the stored information.

22. A system, as set forth in claim 20, wherein the computer is coupled to the server computer over a computer network.

23. A system, as set forth in claim 20, wherein the computer is coupled to the server computer over the internet.

13. A system for providing an electronic card game to a plurality of players, comprising:

at least one electronic card table having a table top with a playing surface and a plurality of electronic player interaction areas located around a periphery of the table top, each electronic player interaction area providing a player interface for interaction with one of the players; and

,

a server computer coupled to the plurality of electronic player interaction areas for dealing at least one hand of the electronic card game composed of electronic cards, allowing the players to make wagers during at least one betting round of each hand using electronic chips, adding any wagers to a pot, and determining a winner of the at least one hand of the electronic card game, the at least one electronic card table for sending information regarding the at least one hand of the electronic card game to the server computer, the server computer for storing the information regarding the hand.

14. A system, as set forth in claim 13, wherein the stored information regarding the at least one hand includes the players playing in the hand, the cards dealt to the players, the wagers made by the players, the pot, and the winner of the pot.

15. A system, as set forth in claim 14, the server computer for electronically shuffling a deck of electronic cards at the beginning of each hand.

16. A system, as set forth in claim 15, wherein the stored information regarding the at least one hand includes at least one of the order of cards in the shuffled deck of electronic cards, cards dealt to each player, and any community cards dealt.

17. A system, as set forth in claim 16, wherein the stored information regarding the at least one hand allows the hand to be recreated.

18. A system, as set forth in claim 13, wherein the server allows the stored information to be viewed and/or printed.

19. A system, as set forth in claim 18, wherein the stored information may be viewed and/or printed from the perspective of at least one of the players.

24. A system, as set forth in claim 18, wherein the server computer allows the stored information to be view and/or printed from the perspective of the at least one electronic card table.

25. A system, as set forth in claim 18, wherein the server computer allows the stored information to be view and/or printed from the perspective of a plurality of electronic card tables at one location.

26. A system, as set forth in claim 13, wherein the server computer is able to determine the number of hands administered per hour and/or revenue generated per hour on a card table or group of card tables basis.

27. A system, as set forth in claim 13, wherein each electronic card table includes a central display area located in a central location of the table top for displaying information to the players.

28. A system, as set forth in claim 13, wherein the electronic player interaction areas are implemented using separate display devices.

29. A system as set forth in claim 28, wherein the display devices are touchscreen displays.

30. A system, as set forth in claim 28, wherein the display devices are housed in a computer based module, each computer based module being connected to the server computer.

31. A system, as set forth in claim 27, the central display area being implemented in a central display device, the card table including a central display computer connected to and for driving the central display device, the central display computer being connected to the game computer.

32. A system, as set forth in claim 13, the server computer being either located at the card table or located remotely.

33. A method for providing an electronic card game on an electronic card table, the electronic card table having a table, a plurality of electronic player interface areas and a server computer, the table has a playing surface, the electronic player interaction areas are located around a periphery of the table top, each electronic player interaction area providing a player interface for interaction with one of the players, the server computer being coupled to the plurality of electronic player interaction areas, comprising:

administering the electronic card game at the electronic card table using electronic chips and electronic cards; and

,

reporting information regarding play of the electronic card game at the electronic card table to the server computer.

34. A method, as set forth in claim 33, wherein a second electronic card table is connected to the server computer, the method includes the steps of:

administering the electronic card game at the second electronic card table using electronic chips and electronic cards; and

,

reporting information regarding play of the electronic card game at the second electronic card table to the server computer.

35. A method, as set forth in claim 33, wherein the electronic card game is administered by the server computer.

36. A method, as set forth in claim 33, wherein the information reported to the server includes information related to each hand of the electronic card game.

37. A method, as set forth in claim 33, including the step of establishing accounting information as a function of the information reported to the server computer.

38. A method, as set forth in claim 37, wherein the accounting information is stored in a database.

39. A method, as set forth in claim 37, wherein the accounting information includes one or more of the following:

amount wagered per electronic card table;

amount, number and size of pots per electronic card table, amount retained per electronic card table, and number of hands played.

40. A system for providing an electronic card game to a plurality of players, comprising:

an electronic card table having a table top with a playing surface and a plurality of electronic player interaction areas located around a periphery of the table top, each electronic player interaction area providing a player interface for interaction with one of the players; and

,

a server computer coupled to the plurality of electronic player interaction areas for administering the electronic card at the electronic card table using electronic cards and electronic chips, the electronic card table for reporting information regarding play of the electronic card game to the server computer, the server computer for storing the information in a database.

41. A system, as set forth in claim 40, including a second electronic card table connected to the server computer, the server computer for administering the electronic card game at the second electronic card table using electronic chips and electronic cards, the second electronic card table for reporting information regarding play of the electronic card game at the second electronic card table to the server computer.

42. A system, as set forth in claim 40, wherein the information reported to the server includes information related to each hand of the electronic card game.

43. A system, as set forth in claim 40, the server computer for establishing accounting information as a function of the information reported to the server computer.

44. A system, as set forth in claim 43, wherein the accounting information is stored in a database.

45. A system, as set forth in claim 43, wherein the accounting information includes one or more of the following:

amount wagered per electronic card table;

amount, number and size of pots per electronic card table, amount retained per electronic card table, and number of hands played.
