1. A medical device, comprising:
- a handle;
a sheath joined to the handle, the sheath comprising a lumen;
a retrieval basket comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and a plurality of legs, each of the plurality of legs comprising a first end, a second end, and an intermediate portion, wherein the first and second ends of the plurality of legs are located at the proximal end of the retrieval basket and the intermediate portion of each of the plurality of legs is located between the first and second ends of the leg, the intermediate portion being positioned at the distal end of the retrieval basket, the retrieval basket achieving a collapsed position when restrained in the lumen of the sheath and an expanded position when unrestrained by the lumen of the sheath; and
a retainer coupled to the distal end of the retrieval basket to secure at least the intermediate portion of one of the plurality of legs to the intermediate portion of another of the plurality of legs, wherein at least the intermediate portion of one of the plurality of legs crosses the intermediate portion of another of the plurality of legs.
