Abstract

A mobile radio communication system is provided for keeping high-quality communications and preventing disconnection of a radio link in fast movement. The system includes the radio network controller provided with a storage unit and a control unit. The storage unit stores grouped-user-equipments management information to be used for identifying and managing a plurality of user equipments as one group. The control unit controls the user equipments belonging to the same group so that they may be connected with their respective ones of the cells formed by the node bases. This allows the plurality of user equipments belonging to the same group to execute multiplex communications, thereby preventing simultaneous disconnection of the radio links of the user equipments belonging to the same group even when those user equipments are moving fast.

Claims

1. A mobile radio communication system comprising:

a plurality of mobile user equipments that are allowed to be moved in concert as one group;

a plurality of node bases; and

a radio network controller having a storage unit for storing grouped-user-equipments management information to be used for identifying and managing the plurality of mobile user equipments as one group and a control unit for controlling the mobile user equipments belonging to one group so that those user equipments may be connected with their respective radio zones.

The mobile radio communication system according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of mobile user equipments combined as a group store grouped-user-equipments information for indicating that the user equipments are grouped and notify the radio network controller of the grouped-user-equipments information, and the radio network controller generates the grouped-user-equipments management information based on the grouped-user-equipments information.

The mobile radio communication system according to claim 1, further comprising a mobile switching center served as a connecting node between a radio network and a general switching network, and wherein the mobile switching center stores grouped-user-equipment information for indicating that the plurality of mobile user equipments are grouped and notifies the radio network controller of the grouped-user-equipments information, and the radio network controller generates the grouped-user-equipments management information based on the grouped-user-equipments information.

The mobile radio communication system according to claim 1, wherein the grouped-user-equipments management information includes information about destination radio zones with which the plurality of mobile user equipments combined as a group are respectively connected, and if the mobile user equipments belonging to one group have the same destination radio zone information, the control unit is served to notify the mobile user equipments of their respective radio zones around the mobile user equipments.

The mobile radio communication system according to claim 1, wherein the grouped-user-equipments management information includes information about the destination radio zones of specific frequency bands with which the plurality of mobile user equipments combined as a group are respectively connected and the control unit is served to refer to the destination radio zone information and thereby connect the mobile user equipments combined as a group with the radio zones of different frequency bands respectively.

The mobile radio communication system according to claim 1, wherein the grouped-user-equipments management information includes information about priorities of the plurality of mobile user equipments combined as a group and the control unit is served to refer to the priority information and thereby connect the mobile user equipments having respective priorities with the different radio zones respectively.

The mobile radio communication system according to claim 1, wherein the grouped-user-equipments information includes information about different peripheral radio zone information selecting algorithms to be respectively applied to the plurality of mobile user equipments combined as a group and the control unit refers to the information about different peripheral radio zone information selecting algorithms and thereby apply the different peripheral radio zone information selecting algorithms to the plurality of mobile user equipments combined as a group respectively.

8. A mobile radio communication system comprising:

a plurality of mobile user equipments that are allowed to be moved in concert as one group;

a plurality of node bases; and

a radio network controller having a storage unit for storing grouped-user-equipments management information to be used for identifying and managing the plurality of mobile user equipments as one group and a delay circuit for delaying a hand-over operation in response to a hand-over request issued by the mobile user equipment if another one of the mobile user equipments belonging to the same group is being handed over.

9. A mobile radio communication system comprising:

a plurality of mobile user equipments that are allowed to be moved in concert as one group;

a plurality of node bases;

a radio network controller having a storage unit for storing grouped-user-equipments management information to be used for identifying and managing the plurality of mobile user equipments as one group and a control unit for securing a communication rate of one mobile user equipment belonging to the same group based on a communication rate of another mobile user equipment and thereby keeping the communication active in the another mobile user equipment when the communication is disconnected.

A radio network controller characterized in that a plurality of link connections executed by a mobile user equipment that may provide a plurality of call connections are identified as one link and while one link connection of the mobile user equipment is being handed over, another link connection being kept without being handed over.
