Abstract

The present invention relates to methods and systems for intellectual property management. In an embodiment, a system includes an intellectual property asset inventory system to manage an inventory of intellectual property assets. A product inventory system manages an inventory of products, where the inventory of products correspond to a plurality of products and one or more of the products of the plurality of products are associated with one or more of the intellectual property assets of the plurality of intellectual property assets. A marketing management system manages a plurality of marketing projects, where one or more of the marketing projects of the plurality of marketing projects are associated with at least one of (i) one or more products of the plurality of products, and (ii) one or more intellectual property assets of the plurality of intellectual property assets.

Claims

1. A computer-readable medium having a program for managing marketing of a plurality intellectual property assets, the program comprising:

logic for identifying at least one potential customer for at least one of the intellectual property assets; and

logic for generating a marketing project plan for the identified at least one intellectual property asset based on a template plan and on the at least one identified customer.

2. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, the program further comprising:

logic for receiving intellectual property data associated with one of the intellectual property assets; and

logic for accessing product data describing a plurality of products; and

logic for identifying, using the product data and the intellectual property data, at least one potential customer for the one intellectual property asset.

3. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, the program further comprising:

logic for identifying, using the product data and the intellectual property data, at least one product in the plurality of products that is similar to a product related to one of the intellectual property assets; and

logic for identifying, using the identified product, at least one potential customer for the one intellectual property asset.

4. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, the logic for accessing product data further comprising:

logic for searching for the product data using an internet search engine.

5. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, the logic for accessing product data further comprising:

logic for accessing product data describing a plurality of products, at least of portion of the plurality of products being produced by an entity other than an owner of the one intellectual property asset.

6. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, the program further comprising:

logic for accessing a product database containing product data describing a plurality of products.

7. The computer-readable medium of claim 6, the program further comprising:

logic for accessing a product database containing product data describing a plurality of products, the database indexed by at least one of product classification, product market, product marketing strategy, or competitor.
