Abstract

Methods and systems consistent with the present invention provide a data processing system having a business object model reflecting the data used during a business transaction. Consistent interfaces are generated from the business object model. These interfaces are suitable for use across industries, across businesses, and across different departments within a business during a business transaction.

Claims

1. A method for generating a product activity notification in a data processing system, the method comprising the steps of:

providing a data structure comprising a product activity message entity, a message header package, and a product activity package, the message header package comprising a message header entity that further comprises a sender party entity and a recipient party entity, the product activity message package comprising a product activity entity, a party package, a business transaction document reference package, and an item package, the party package comprising a buyer party entity and a vendor party entity, the business transaction document reference package comprising an inbound delivery reference entity, the item package comprising an item entity, a location package, a product information package, and an inventory package, the location package comprising a ship from location entity and a ship to location entity, the product information package comprising a product entity, and the inventory package comprising an inventory entity and a consignment entity;

receiving values for the fields in the data structure; and

storing the values into the data structure to generate the product activity notification.
