Abstract

Generally large objects including ergonomic gaming stools are provided with a supporting assembly including an easy rolling support base to enable them to be moved easily along a generally unidirectional line of movement. An easy rolling support base for the supporting assembly includes a shaped disc member to the underside of which are affixed a plurality of freely mounted roller members in predetermined angular spaced relationship. The freely mounted roller members are so mounted that the rollers are in alignment with each other and rotate in the same direction. A roller members connecting plate is provided to facilitate mounting the roller members in predetermined angular position before they are mounted into assembled position on the easy rolling support base and to facilitate repair of a roller member that may fail. The roller members are formed of materials to support the load and shaped to oppose other than unidirectional movement.

Claims

1. A support assembly connected to an object for moving the object to and fro along a generally single line of direction comprising:

a. an easy rolling support base adapted to be connected to the lower end of the support assembly having an upper surface and a lower surface,

b. a plurality of spaced roller members connected to the lower surface of the support base, each spaced roller member having at least one roller, and

c. said spaced roller members so mounted that the respective at least one roller thereon are in alignment with each other and, when the object is moved, rotate to provide the single directional movement of the object to which the support base is affixed.

2. In the support assembly as in claim 1, wherein said at least one roller on each of the roller members is shaped to prevent movement away from the single directional line of movement.

3. In the support assembly as in claim 1, wherein said at least one roller on each of the roller members has a larger center diameter defining an apex and tapers in opposite directions to a smaller diameter at the respective sides of the roller to prevent movement away from the single directional line of movement.

4. In the support assembly as in claim 3 wherein said at least one roller on each of the roller members tapers in opposite directions to a smaller diameter at the respective sides of the roller at approximately an angle up to at least five degrees (5°

).

5. A support assembly connected to an object for moving the object to and fro along a generally single line of direction comprising:

a. an easy rolling support base connected to the lower end of the support assembly having a disc shaped member with a lower surface,

b. a plurality of spaced roller members affixed and connected in a predetermined angular spaced relation to each other on the lower surface of the disc shaped member,

c. said spaced roller members each having at least one roller thereon, and

d. said spaced roller members so mounted that the respective at least one roller thereon is in alignment with each other and, when the object is moved, rotate to provide single directional movement of the object.

6. The support assembly as in claim 5 wherein the predetermined angular spaced relation of the spaced roller members to each other is a function of the number of roller members affixed to the lower surface of the base support.

7. The support assembly as in claim 5 wherein the number of spaced roller members is six (6), and the predetermined angular spaced relation is sixty degrees (60°

).

8. The support assembly as in claim 5 wherein the number of spaced roller members is eight (8), and the predetermined angular spaced relation between the roller members is forty-five degrees (45°

).

9. In the support assembly as in claim 6 wherein said at least one roller on each of the roller members is shaped to prevent movement away from the single directional line of movement.

10. In the support assembly as in claim 6 wherein said at least one roller on each of the roller members has a larger center diameter defining an apex and tapers in opposite directions to a smaller diameter at the respective sides of the roller to prevent movement away from the single directional line of movement.

11. In the support assembly as in claim 10, wherein said at least one roller on each of the roller members tapes in opposite directions to a smaller diameter at the respective sides of the roller at approximately an angle up to at least five degrees (5°

).

12. In the support assembly as in claim 6 including a roller members connecting plate for mounting the roller members into predetermined angular position, and means for detachably connecting the roller members connecting plate and the disc shaped member into assembled position on the easy rolling support base.

13. The combination with a gaming stool having a seating section disposed for operative association with a gaming machine of, a telescopically formed support assembly including:

a. an easy rolling support base connected to the lower end of the support assembly,

b. a relatively sturdy and shaped disc member forming at least a portion of the easy rolling support base,

c. said disc member having a lower face, d. a plurality of roller members connected to the lower face of the disc member in predetermined angular spaced relationship relative to each other, and

e. each of the spaced roller members having at least one freely rotatable roller thereon and disposed in alignment with each other whereby the respective at least one roller on each of said spaced roller members are adapted to rotate in the same direction during movement of the gaming stool.

14. The support assembly as in claim 13 wherein the predetermined angular spaced relation of the spaced roller members to each other is a function of the number of roller members affixed to the lower surface of the base support.

15. The support assembly as in claims 13 or 14 wherein the number of spaced roller members is six (6), and the predetermined angular spaced relation is sixty degrees (60°

).

16. In the combination as in claims 13 or 14 including a roller members connecting plate for mounting the roller members into predetermined angular position, and means for detachably connecting the roller members connecting plate and the disc shaped member into assembled position on the lower end of the support assembly.
