Abstract

This invention is a fault tolerant computer controlled automatic medication dispenser with a unique dispensing system. This dispensing system enables a large number of detachable medication filled dispensing wheels to be vertically stacked and held in a fixed position; and then be automatically dispensed one dispensing wheel. The patient'"'"'s medication can be dispensed for a few days, weeks, and or many months without a refill. These medication filled dispensing wheels are stored and held in a fixed position within the dispenser.

Claims

1. A medical dispenser comprising:

a housing having a plurality of dispenser wheels.

2. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where said housing has a base.

3. A medical dispenser according to claim 2 where said base has a skid proof rubber pad.

4. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where said housing holds a microprocessor.

5. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where said housing holds a reminding means to tell a user to take their medicine.

6. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where the medicine is dispensed at a preset time.

7. A medical dispenser according to claim 6 where the medicine is dispensed at a preset time and a warning is generated if the user does not take said medicine.

8. A medical dispenser according to claim 7 where said warning is sent using a modem.

9. A medical dispenser according to claim 7 where said warning is sent using a wireless transmitter.

10. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where there is a locking means to prevent a user from taking the medication at a wrong time.

11. A medical dispenser according to claim 7 with an inclined and partially enclosed slide attached to said housing.

12. A medical dispenser according to claim 7 with an inclined and partially enclosed slide attached to said housing.

13. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where there is a panic button attached to said housing.

14. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 with an entrapment room within said housing.

15. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where there is a liquid crystal display attached to said housing.

16. A medical dispenser according to claim 2 with a dispensing cup at the base.

17. A medical dispenser according to claim 1 where said dispensing wheel can be stacked.

18. A process using the medical dispenser device of claim 1 to treat drug addiction.
