Abstract

According to an embodiment, a method includes determining, for each occurrence of a predetermined outcome during a flat rate play session, a respective payout amount. Each respective payout amount is based on a number of prior occurrences of the predetermined outcome during a flat rate play session.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

determining a first occurrence of a predetermined outcome during a flat rate play session;

providing a first payout amount after the first occurrence;

determining a second occurrence of the outcome during the flat rate play session;

providing a second payout amount after the second occurrence, in which the second payout amount is greater than the first payout amount.

2. The method of claim 1, in which the second payout amount is greater than the first payout amount by a predetermined amount.

3. The method of claim 1, in which the second payout amount is greater than the first payout amount by a random amount.

4. The method of claim 1, in which the second payout amount is greater than the first payout amount by a proportion of the first payout amount.

5. The method of claim 1, in which the second payout amount is subject to a maximum, whereby the second payout amount is not greater than the maximum.

6. A method comprising:

determining, for each occurrence of a predetermined outcome during a flat rate play session, a respective payout amount,

in which each respective payout amount is based on a number of prior occurrences of the predetermined outcome during a flat rate play session.

7. The method of claim 6, in which determining, for each occurrence of a predetermined outcome during a flat rate play session, a respective payout amount, comprises:

determining, for each of a plurality of occurrences of the predetermined outcome, a respective payout amount, in which the plurality of occurrences define a sequence ordered by time, and in which each respective payout amount is greater than payout amounts associated with occurrences prior in the sequence.

8. The method of claim 6, in which each payout amount for a respective occurrence is greater than the preceding payout amount by a predetermined amount.

9. The method of claim 6, in which each payout amount for a respective occurrence is greater than the preceding payout amount by a random amount.

10. The method of claim 6, in which each payout amount for a respective occurrence is greater than the preceding payout amount by a proportion of the preceding payout amount.

11. The method of claim 6, in which each payout amount is subject to a maximum, whereby every payout amount is not greater than the maximum.

12. An apparatus programmed to perform the method of claim 6.
