Abstract

The invention relates to a construction safety assembly. The inventive assembly comprises: safety posts with non-skid ends, which are provided with means for the rapid connection of a barrier; and, optionally, an upper jack-type safety element having a lower horizontal protrusion along an inclined plane, which is used to brace the cornice or projecting element of a building and which can also comprise the aforementioned barrier connection means. The adjustable-length barrier comprises a base which covers the lower part thereof. In this way, the invention provides a dual safety assembly of very simple construction, which can be used to guarantee the collective safety of labourers performing external and internal construction work and prevent accidents.

, this safety equipment includes several safety posts each comprising at least two telescopic tubes equipped with locking mechanisms to prevent the posts from moving. The safety posts are characterized on the side by hooks for locating in openings in fencing comprising a structure of horizontal bars and reinforcing bars on each part.

according to claim 1, wherein the fact that it includes an upper safety piece comprising a vertical holding piece whose lower end has a horizontal extension ending in an inclined plane. This upper safety piece includes a vertically moveable horizontal piece and locking equipment for it. This upper safety piece is designed to trap a building'"'"'s cornice or protuberance between the aforementioned horizontal extension and the moveable horizontal piece using the aforementioned inclined plane supported on the upper end of the safety post.

according to claim 2, wherein the fact that the upper safety piece is equipped with hooks for the rapid connection of transversal fencing.

according to claim 1, wherein the fact that the aforementioned locking mechanisms prevent movement of the telescopic tubes on the safety post including a tight fitting tubular part surrounding the central part of the safety post where the tubes join which is threaded on the inside to join with the outside thread on the upper part of the lower tube, so that when the tight fitting tube is turned to tighten it, there is a vertical movement towards the upper tube on the safety post until it butts up against a rod and which this tube has a side opening to locate a lever key which turns the tube.

according to claim 1, wherein the fact that the aforementioned hooks are in pairs on the safety post to be placed into the openings on the respective pairs of fencing forming a right angle between them. Each hook in these pairs is at a different height to prevent it from interfering with the aforementioned fencing.

according to claim 1, wherein the fact that the aforementioned bars are extendible in length to vary the operating length of the fencing.
