21. A method for brazing in a braze chamber comprising:
-
a. mounting an armature bar and hydraulic header clip in the braze chamber, wherein the armature winding bar is received in a substantially vertical orientation;
b. seating the bar and clip in an induction heating coil in the chamber, wherein the heating coil is aligned with an end of the armature winding bar;
c. attaching a heat sink to the armature bar below the clip;
d. closing the chamber around the bar and clip;
e. purging oxygen from the chamber by injecting a control gas into the chamber;
f. brazing the end of the armature winding bar and clip by applying electrical power to the coil to heat the clip to a temperature above a liquidus temperature of a braze alloy in with the bar and clip, and g. removing the brazed bar and clip from the chamber after cooling the coil. - View Dependent Claims (22)
