Abstract

An electronic display arrangement for viewing of video by a person who is a patient receiving a healthcare service in a resting position or who is a healthcare provider providing such healthcare service, includes: an apparatus for receiving a patient in a resting position; and an electronic display suspended above the apparatus and adjustably positionable for unobstructed viewing by the person. The electronic display includes a display screen and a protective member covering the display screen.

Claims

1. An electronic display arrangement for viewing of video by a person who is a patient receiving a healthcare service in a resting position or who is a healthcare provider providing such healthcare service, comprising,

(a) an apparatus for receiving a patient in a resting position, and

(b) an electronic display suspended above said apparatus and adjustably positionable for unobstructed viewing by the person,

(c) wherein said electronic display includes a display screen and a protective member covering said display screen.

2. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said display screen comprises a touchscreen.

3. The electronic display arrangement of claim 2, wherein said touchscreen is an infrared touchscreen.

4. The electronic display arrangement of claim 2, wherein said touchscreen utilizes projected capacitive technology.

5. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member is removably attached to said electronic display, whereby said protective member may be replaced.

6. The electronic display arrangement of claim 5, wherein said protective member is removably attached to said electronic display by a plurality of screws.

7. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member comprises a polycarbonate material.

8. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member comprises a plastic material.

9. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member comprises a thermoplastic material.

10. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member comprises a chemical-resistant material.

11. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member includes scratch resistant characteristics.

12. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member includes antistatic characteristics.

13. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member includes antiglare characteristics.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the protective member is transparent.

15. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member is waterproof.

16. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member is rigid and includes impact resistant characteristics.

17. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member is impenetrable to pathogens.

18. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, wherein said protective member is screen printed on an inside surface thereof.

19. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, further including a polarizing filter disposed between said display screen and said protective member.

20. The electronic display arrangement of claim 1, further including a Bernoulli lens disposed between said display screen and said protective member.

21. An electronic display arrangement for viewing of video by a person who is a patient receiving a healthcare service in a resting position or who is a healthcare provider providing such healthcare service, comprising,

(a) an apparatus for receiving a patient in a resting position, and

(b) an electronic display suspended above said apparatus and adjustably positionable for unobstructed viewing by the person, said electronic display including a touchscreen and a protective shield overlying said touchscreen.

22. A method of providing a healthcare service to a patient in a resting position, comprising the steps of,

(a) providing an apparatus for receiving a patient in a resting position,

(b) suspending an electronic display above said apparatus and adjustably positioning the electronic display for unobstructed viewing by a person who is a patient receiving a healthcare service in a resting position or who is a healthcare provider providing such healthcare service, and

(c) protecting electronic display suspended above said provided apparatus by securing a protective shield over the electronic display.

23. The method of claim 22, further comprising the step of interfacing with a computer system in communication with the electronic display by utilizing a touchscreen of the electronic display disposed beneath the protective shield.

24. The method of claim 22, further comprising the step of sterilizing the protective shield with a disinfectant.

25. The method of claim 22, further comprising the step of detaching the protective shield from the electronic display and attaching a new protective shield to the electronic display.

26. The method of claim 22, wherein the protective shield is transparent.

27. The method of claim 22, wherein the protective shield comprises a polycarbonate material.
