1. A stringed musical instrument pickup comprising:
- at least one string-sensing coil, and at least one noise-sensing coil electrically coupled to the string sensing coil, the noise-sensing coil comprising a core, the core comprising a ferrite material whereby eddy current losses are reduced when a voltage is induced in the noise-sensing coil in order to cancel a noise voltage induced in the string-sensing coil.

Abstract
A noise sensing bobbin-coil assembly for use in conjunction with a musical instrument pickup is disclosed. In particular, the bobbin of the bobbin-coil assembly is adapted to resist induced eddy currents thereby allowing a fewer number of coils to be used which in turn reduces undesirable interaction with the musical instrument pickup.
