Abstract

A control method of a communication terminal having a telephone directory user interface and a communication system, the control method and system include storing a plurality of telephone numbers corresponding to a destination user as telephone directory data, requesting a notification of location information of the destination user to a server, receiving location information of the destination user from a server, and displaying a telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user.

Claims

1. A control method of a communication terminal having a telephone directory user interface that can register a plurality of telephone numbers, comprising the steps of:

storing a plurality of telephone numbers corresponding to a destination user as telephone directory data;

requesting a notification of location information of the destination user to a server;

receiving location information of the destination user from the server; and

displaying a telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user from the server.

2. The control method according to claim 1, wherein the request for notification of the location information is performed using a predetermined protocol.

3. The control method according to claim 2, wherein the predetermined protocol is a session initiation protocol.

4. The control method according to claim 1, wherein the telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user is displayed when the destination user is selected at the telephone directory user interface.

5. Computer-executable process steps for causing a computer to execute the control method of claim 1.

6. A computer-readable storage medium for storing the computer-executable process steps of claim 5.

7. A communication terminal, including a telephone user interface, comprising:

a storing unit configured to store a plurality of telephone numbers corresponding to a destination user as telephone directory data;

a requesting unit configured to request notification of location information of the destination user to a server;

a receiving unit configured to receive location information of the destination user from a server; and

a display unit configured to display a telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user provided by the server.

8. The communication terminal according to claim 7, wherein the display unit displays the telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user when the destination user is selected at the telephone directory user interface.

9. A communication system comprising:

a communication terminal; and

a server,

wherein the communication terminal comprises;

a telephone directory user interface;

a storing unit configured to store a plurality of telephone numbers corresponding to a destination user as telephone directory data;

a requesting unit configured to request notification of location information of the destination user from the server;

a receiving unit configured to receive location information of the destination user from the server; and

a display unit configured to display a telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user provided by the server.

10. A communication system according to claim 9, wherein the request requested by the requesting unit is performed using a predetermined protocol.

11. A communication system according to claim 10, wherein the predetermined protocol is a session initiation protocol.

12. The communication system according to claim 10, wherein the communication terminal receives the location information of the destination user from the server via the predetermined protocol.

13. The communication system according to claim 9, wherein the server receives, from a sensor located near the destination user, the location information and an address read from a personal identification medium possessed by the destination user and performs the location information notification based on the address and the location information.

14. The communication system according to claim 9, wherein the telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user is displayed when the destination user is selected at the telephone directory user interface.

15. The communication system according to claim 9, wherein the server executes an IP telephone communication process.

16. A control method of a communication terminal having a telephone directory user interface that can register a plurality of telephone numbers, comprising the steps of:

storing a plurality of telephone numbers corresponding to a destination user as telephone directory data;

requesting notification of location information of the destination user;

receiving location information of the destination user; and

displaying a telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user.

17. The control method according to claim 16, wherein notification of the location information is requested from a server.

18. The control method according to claim 16, wherein the request for notification of the location information is performed using a predetermined protocol.

19. The control method according to claim 18, wherein the predetermined protocol is a session initiation protocol.

20. The control method according to claim 16, wherein the telephone number corresponding to a current location of the destination user is displayed when the destination user is selected at the telephone directory user interface.
