1. A method for connecting a routing device in an existing wiring laid out between a first communication network and a client device, said existing wiring comprising at least four electrically conductive wires numbered from 2 to 5, said client device and said first communication network connected with each other via wires 3 and 4 of said existing wiring, said client device capable of making voice calls to and receiving voice calls from said first communication network, said routing device comprising a FXS port, a FXO port, and a communication port, said routing device capable of routing voice calls received from said FXS port to said first communication network via said FXO port and to a second communication network via said communication port, said method comprising the steps of:

  • providing a first mapping device and a second mapping device; and

    connecting said first mapping device to said existing wiring and to said client device so that said client device is connected to wires 2 and 5 of said existing wiring, and connecting said second mapping device to said existing wiring and to said routing device so that said FXS port of said routing device is connected to wires 2 and 5 of said existing wiring and said FXO port of said routing device is connected to wires 3 and 4 of said existing wiring.
