Abstract

A method is described that involves, at a worker node, receiving a notification of a request from a queue. The notification contains a handle for a shared memory connection. The queue is implemented with a second shared memory connection. The method involves receiving the request from the shared memory through the connection. The method also involves generating a response to the request at the worker node and sending the response over the shared memory connection.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

at a worker node, receiving a notification of a request from a queue, said notification containing a handle for a shared memory connection, said queue implemented with a second shared memory connection;

receiving said request from said shared memory through said connection;

generating a response to said request at said worker node; and

,

sending said response over said shared memory connection.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein said worker node is a Java worker node.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein said request is for a distributable session.

4. The method of claim 2 wherein said request is for a sticky session.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein said generating a response further comprises fetching information pertaining to a session that said request is part of.

6. An article of manufacture including program code which, when executed by a machine, causes the machine-to perform a method, the method comprising:

at a worker node, receiving a notification of a request from a queue, said notification containing a handle for a shared memory connection, said queue implemented with a second shared memory connection;

receiving said request from said shared memory through said connection;

generating a response to said request at said worker node; and

,

sending said response over said shared memory connection.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein said worker node is a Java worker node.

8. The method of claim 7 wherein said request is for a distributable session.

9. The method of claim 7 wherein said request is for a sticky session.

10. The method of claim 6 wherein said generating a response further comprises fetching information pertaining to a session that said request is part of.

11. A computing system comprising machines, said machines comprising a virtual machine and a processor, said computing system also comprising instructions disposed on a computer readable medium, said instructions capable of being executed by at least one of said machines to perform a method, said method comprising:

at a worker node, receiving a notification of a request from a queue, said notification containing a handle for a shared memory connection, said queue implemented with a second shared memory connection;

receiving said request from said shared memory through said connection;

generating a response to said request at said worker node; and

,

sending said response over said shared memory connection.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein said worker node is a Java worker node.

13. The method of claim 12 wherein said request is for a distributable session.

14. The method of claim 12 wherein said request is for a sticky session.

15. The method of claim 11 wherein said generating a response further comprises fetching information pertaining to a session that said request is part of.
