Abstract

A system and method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display includes a mobile communications device having a visible display, and a means for creating a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code representing selected data. Means are provided for selectively transmitting the highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, from the means for creating it to the mobile communications device. The highly secure two-dimensional matrix code is then displayed on the visible display of the mobile communications device. Upon reading the code, a transaction is facilitated.

Claims

1. A system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display, wherein said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code facilitates a selected transaction between a user and a recipient, said system comprising:

a mobile communications device having a visible display;

means for creating a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code representing selected data;

means for selectively transmitting said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, from said means for creating a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, to said mobile communications device;

displaying said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on said visible display of said mobile communications device; and

means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code,

whereby said means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code facilitates the selected transaction through transfer of said selected data of the user, represented by said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, to the recipient.

2. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 1, wherein said mobile communications device further comprises a fingerprint authentication means for enabling operation of said mobile communications device.

The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 1, wherein said means for creating a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code representing selected data includes an interactive program, said interactive program being (i) accessible by a user of said system and (ii) responsive to data input therein by the user.

4. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 3, wherein said interactive program is accessible to the user through an internet web site.

5. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 3, wherein said interactive program is accessible to the user through a stand-alone kiosk.

The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 1, wherein said means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a display device for displaying selected data which is, at least in part, (i) characteristic of said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, and (ii) in a plain language, intelligible form.

7. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 6, wherein said display device is, at least in part, interactive.

8. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 1, wherein said means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a card reader.

9. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 6, wherein said means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a card reader.

10. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 7, wherein said means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a card reader.

11. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 1, wherein the selected transaction is a hard currency transaction.

12. The system for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 1, wherein the selected transaction is a credit account transaction.

13. A method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display, wherein said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code facilitates a selected transaction between a user and a recipient, said method comprising steps of:

providing a mobile communications device having a visible display;

providing a means for creating a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code representing selected data;

providing a means for selectively transmitting said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, from said means for creating a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, to said mobile communications device;

displaying said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on said visible display of said mobile communications device; and

providing a means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code,

such that said means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code facilitates the selected transaction through transfer of said selected data of the user, represented by said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, to the recipient.

14. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 13, further comprising a step of providing a fingerprint authentication means with said mobile communications device, for enabling operation of said mobile communications device.

The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 13, wherein said step of providing a means for creating a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code representing selected data includes an interactive program, said interactive program being (i) accessible by a user of said system and (ii) responsive to data input therein by the user.

16. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 15, wherein said interactive program is accessible to the user through an internet web site.

17. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 15, wherein said interactive program is accessible to the user through a stand-alone kiosk.

18. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 13, wherein said step of providing a means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a display device for displaying selected data which is, at least in part, (i) characteristic of said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code, and (ii) in a plain language, intelligible form.

19. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 18, wherein said display device is, at least in part, interactive.

20. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 13, wherein said step of providing a means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a card reader.

21. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 18, wherein said step of providing a means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a card reader.

22. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 19, wherein said step of providing a means for reading said highly secure two-dimensional matrix code further includes a card reader.

23. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 13, wherein the selected transaction is a hard currency transaction.

24. The method for utilizing a highly secure two-dimensional matrix code on a mobile communications display of claim 13, wherein the selected transaction is a credit account transaction.
