Abstract

Provided is a method and system for logically articulating planned operations within a software based model. The method includes importing data relating to the planned operations and automatically (i) interrelating the imported data and (ii) producing threads and/or activity models. The threads and activity models are representative of the interrelations. The method also includes displaying the threads or activity models via a graphical user interface.

Claims

1. A method for logically articulating planned operations within a software based model, the method comprising:

importing data relating to the planned operations;

automatically (i) interrelating the imported data and (ii) producing at least one from the group including threads and activity models to represent the interrelations; and

displaying the threads or activity models via a graphical user interface (GUI).

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the software based model includes an application program.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the application program is based upon one or more predetermined architectures.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the importing includes selecting from one or more importation formats each corresponding to an initial format of the data.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the importation formats are displayed within a template via the GUI.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the data includes meta-data or artifacts.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the artifacts are representative of at least one from the group including a planned mission, vision, strategy, or activity.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising storing the data and the threads in an internal relational database.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the data is imported from an external database.

10. The method of claim 8, further comprising facilitating near real-time or realtime user analyses of the threads via the GUI.

11. An apparatus configured to logically articulate planned operations within a software based model, the apparatus comprising:

means for importing data relating to the planned operations;

means for automatically (i) interrelating the imported data and (ii) producing at least one from the group including threads and activity models, the threads and activity models being representative of the interrelations; and

means for displaying the threads or activity models via a graphical user interface (GUI).

12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the software based model includes an applications program.

13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the application program is based upon one or more predetermined architectures.

14. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the importing means includes means for selecting from one or more importation formats each corresponding to an initial format of the data.

15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the importation formats are displayed within a template via the GUI.

16. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the data includes meta-data or artifacts.

17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the artifacts are representative of at least one from the group including a planned mission, vision, strategy, or activity.

18. The apparatus of claim 17, further comprising means for storing the data and the threads in an internal relational database.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein the data is imported from an external database.

20. The apparatus of claim 18, further comprising means for facilitating near real-time user analyses of the threads via the GUI.

21. A computer readable medium carrying one or more sequences of one or more instructions for execution by one or more processors to perform a method for logically articulating planned operations within a software based model, the instructions when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform the steps of:

importing data relating to the planned operations;

automatically (i) interrelating the imported data and (ii) producing at least one from the group including threads and activity models, the threads and activity models being representative of the interrelations; and

displaying the threads or activity models via a graphical user interface (GUI).
