Abstract
Disclosed is an illumination device comprising at least one electrical planar lamp module that is provided with a module housing, the depth of which is small compared to the light-emitting area of the planar lamp module. Said planar lamp module can be connected to other planar lamp modules. The module housing encompasses a lamp housing and a lamp frame which is connected to the lamp housing and is provided with means for mechanically connecting the lamp frame to the lamp frame of at least one additional planar lamp module.
