Abstract

A system and method for changing a talk group of a mobile communication terminal, which includes a PTT (Push To Talk) server and a mobile communication terminal is described. The PTT server is configured to transmit a message requesting the mobile communication terminal to change a talk group based on a location of the mobile communication terminal. The mobile communication terminal is configured to transmit a message approving change of the talk group.

Claims

1. A system for changing a talk group of a mobile communication terminal, comprising:

a server; and

a mobile communication terminal, wherein the server is configured to transmit a message requesting the mobile communication terminal to change a talk group based on a location of the mobile communication terminal, and the mobile communication terminal is configured to transmit a message approving change of the talk group.

2. The system according to claim 1, further comprising:

a network node that receives the location of the mobile communication terminal and transmits the location to the server.

3. The system according to claim 2, wherein the network node comprises a base station and a base station controller.

4. The system according to claim 2, wherein the location of the mobile communication terminal is determined by a base station.

5. The system according to claim 4, wherein the mobile communication terminal transmits its location to the base station.

6. The system according to claim 1, wherein the server stores information concerning a plurality of talk groups.

7. The system according to claim 6, wherein the information concerning the talk groups includes information that associates each talk group with a location and identifies a plurality of communication terminals belonging to the talk group.

8. The system according to claim 1, wherein the mobile communication terminal is configured to display a message indicating a request to change a talk group in response to receiving the message transmitted from the server.

9. The system according to claim 8, wherein the mobile communication terminal transmits the message approving change of the talk group in response to a user approving the request to change a talk group.

10. The system according to claim 1, wherein the talk group is a talk group set as default.

11. The system according to claim 1, wherein the server comprises a PTT (Push To Talk) server.

12. A method for changing a talk group of a mobile communication terminal, comprising:

determining a location of a mobile communication terminal; and

setting a talk group of the mobile communication terminal based upon its location.

13. The method according to claim 12, wherein setting the talk group comprises:

sending a message requesting the mobile communication terminal to change a talk group based on the location of the mobile communication terminal;

receiving a message of approving change of the talk group as requested by the sent message; and

changing the talk group in response to receiving the message approving the change.

14. The method according to claim 13, wherein changing the talk group comprises at least one of changing the talk group in response to a user'"'"'s selection, and automatically changing the talk group by the mobile communication terminal.

15. The method according to claim 12, wherein the mobile communication terminal is associated with a plurality of talk groups, and each talk group is associated with a location and includes a plurality of communication terminals.

16. The method according to claim 12, wherein the talk group is a talk group set as default.

17. The method according to claim 12, wherein setting a talk group of the mobile communication terminal comprises switching from a first talk group to a second talk group.

18. A mobile communication terminal for providing a Push To Talk (PTT) service, comprising:

a memory that stores information for a plurality of talk groups, wherein the mobile communication terminal is configured to change a talk group based on its location.

19. The mobile communication terminal according to claim 18, wherein the mobile communication terminal is configured to receive a message requesting a change of a talk group, and to transmit a message approving a change of a talk group.

20. The mobile communication terminal according to claim 19, wherein the mobile communication terminal receives the message requesting a change of a talk group based upon its location.

21. The mobile communication terminal according to claim 18, further comprising a display unit that displays a message requesting a change of a talk group based upon the location of the mobile communication terminal.

22. The mobile communication terminal according to claim 21, wherein the mobile communication terminal changes a talk group in response to a user approving the request to change a talk group.

23. The mobile communication terminal according to claim 18, wherein the mobile communication terminal is configured to transmit its location to a network node.

24. The mobile communication terminal according to claim 23, wherein the network node comprises a base station and a base station controller.

25. A method for changing a talk group of a mobile communication terminal, comprising:

receiving a message requesting a change of a talk group, based on a location of the mobile communication terminal; and

transmitting, by the mobile communication terminal, a message approving a change of a talk group.
