Abstract

A dynamic scrip account for processing awards from an electronic gaming device has been developed. The gaming system includes an electronic gaming device that generates a gaming outcome and delivers a static scrip payment. A matching electronic scrip account is present that reflects the value of the static scrip payment and updates its value based on other gaming outcomes.

Claims

1. An electronic gaming system, comprising:

a electronic gaming device that generates a gaming outcome and delivers a static scrip payment with a matching electronic scrip account; and

an electronic scrip account that reflects the value of the static scrip payment and updates in value based on other gaming outcomes.

2. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account changes in value based on the static scrip wager.

3. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account reflects the balance of multiple outcomes of the electronic gaming device.

4. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account may be redeemed at the electronic gaming device.

5. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account may be redeemed at a separate electronic gaming device.

6. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account may be redeemed at a redemption device that is connected to a network of electronic gaming devices.

7. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account may be redeemed manually by an operator of the electronic gaming system.

8. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account may be redeemed as a cashless instrument.

9. The system of claim 8, where the cashless instrument comprises a printed ticket.

10. The system of claim 8, where the cashless instrument comprises a smart card.

11. The system of claim 8, where the cashless instrument comprises a credit card.

12. The system of claim 8, where the cashless instrument comprises a debit card.

13. The system of claim 8, where the cashless instrument comprises a player'"'"'s club card.

14. The system of claim 8, where the cashless instrument comprises an RFID equipped device.

15. The system of claim 8, where the cashless instrument comprises an electronic memory device.

24. The electronic gaming system of claim 20, where the player tracking information comprises the time of day of play by the player.

25. The electronic gaming system of claim 20, where the player tracking information comprises responsiveness of the player to promotions.

26. The electronic gaming system of claim 20, where the player tracking information comprises group classification of the player.

27. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account is stored in the electronic gaming device.

28. The electronic gaming system of claim 1, where the electronic scrip account is stored in a central memory location of a network of electronic gaming devices.

29. The electronic gaming system of claim 28, where the network of electronic gaming devices comprises the internet.

30. The electronic gaming system of claim 28, where the network of electronic gaming devices comprises a LAN.

means for receiving a static scrip wager;

means for generating a gaming outcome based on the static scrip wager; and

means for electronically accounting for the gaming outcome.
