Abstract

A user of a communications network is provided with limited access rights to one or more restricted access communications network sites that are partnered with a base entity, which can have an associated base communications network site, if the user utilizes communications network access capabilities associated with the base entity to access the partner sites.

Claims

1. A method for providing an access right to a restricted access communications network site, comprising:

providing at least one restricted access communications network site partnered with a base entity, wherein the at least one partner site is coupled to or on a communications network; and

providing the user with an access right to at least one of the partner sites, based on the user'"'"'s use of a communications network site access capability associated with the base entity to access the at least one of the partner sites.

The method of claim 1, wherein the communications network site access capability associated with the base entity includes a communications network site access application, wherein the application is at least one of downloadable from a communication network site and residing on a communication terminal used by the user.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the application is downloadable from at least one of the base site and the partner site.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

generating a network access identifier code for the user at a user terminal, wherein the access identifier code includes an access right to at least one of the partner sites and wherein the access right includes at least one predetermined limitation.

5. The method of claim 4 further comprising:

monitoring communications network site access activities of the user to collect access activity data; and

determining whether to provide the user with access to at least one of the partner sites based on the identifier code and the access activity data.

The method of claim 4, wherein the predetermined limitation includes at least one of a time limitation, a numerical limit on accesses of at least one of the partner sites, a restriction as to what content is accessible on at least one of the partner sites and a limit on quantity of content accessible on at least one of the partner sites.

7. The method of claim 4, wherein the user pays a fee to have the identifier code generated at the terminal.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

providing a base communications network site associated with the base entity, wherein the base site is coupled to or on a communications network and wherein the base site provides for the communications network site access capability.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein the communications network site access capability includes a communications network site access application, wherein the application is at least one of downloadable from a communication network site and residing on a communications terminal used by the user.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the application is downloadable from at least one of a base site associated with the base entity and the partner site.

9. A system for providing an access right to a restricted access communications network site, comprising:

at least one restricted access communications network site partnered with a base entity, wherein the at least one partner site is coupled to or on a communications network, and wherein the at least one partner site provides an access right to a user when the user utilizes a communications network site access capability associated with the base entity to access the at least one partner site.

The system of claim 9, wherein the partner site provides the user with access based on a network access identifier code generated at a communications terminal of the user through which the user utilizes the communications network site access capability associated with the base entity to access the partner site, and wherein the access right includes at least one predetermined limitation.

The system of claim 12, wherein the predetermined limitation includes at least one of a time limitation, a numerical limit on accesses of at least one of the partner sites, a restriction as to what content is accessible on at least one of the partner sites and a limit on quantity of content accessible on at least one of the partner sites.

14. The system of claim 9 further comprising:

a communications network site access activity monitor for collecting access activity data representative of communications network site access activities of the user, wherein the at least one partner site determines whether to provide the user with access based on the identifier code and the access activity data.

15. The system of claim 12, wherein the user pays a fee to have the identifier code generated at the terminal.

16. The system of claim 9 further comprising:

a base communications network site associated with the base entity and providing for the communications network site access capability.
