Abstract

A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body. Each side frame member includes an integrally formed first connector portion. A headgear assembly is removably attachable to the frame. The headgear assembly has a second connector portion adapted to be removably coupled with the first connector portion provided on the frame. The second connector portion is manually movable to a releasing position to detach the headgear assembly from the frame. The headgear assembly is rotationally adjustable with respect to the frame.

21. A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, comprising:

a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, each side frame member including an integrally formed first connector portion, and

a headgear assembly removably attachable to the frame, the headgear assembly having a second connector portion adapted to be removably coupled with the first connector portion provided on the frame, the second connector portion being manually movable to a releasing position to detach the headgear assembly from the frame,

wherein one of the first connector portion and the second connector portion includes at least one tooth and the other of the first connector portion and the second connector portion includes a plurality of teeth configured for rotationally locking engagement with the at least one tooth, such that the headgear assembly is rotationally adjustable with respect to the frame.

22. A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, comprising:

a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, each side frame member including an integrally formed first connector portion, and

a headgear assembly removably attachable to the frame, the headgear assembly having a second connector portion adapted to be removably coupled with the first connector portion provided on the frame, the second connector portion being manually movable to a releasing position to detach the headgear assembly from the frame,

wherein one of the first connector portion and the second connector portion includes at least one engagement means and the other of the first connector portion and the second connector portion includes a plurality of engagement means configured for rotationally locking engagement with the at least one engagement means, and wherein either the at least one engagement means is a recess and the plurality of engagement means are a plurality of teeth or the at least one engagement means is a tooth and the plurality of engagement means are recesses, such that the headgear assembly is rotationally adjustable with respect to the frame.

23. A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, comprising:

a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, each side frame member including an integrally formed first connector portion, and

a headgear assembly removably attachable to the frame, the headgear assembly having a second connector portion adapted to be removably coupled with the first connector portion provided on the frame, the second connector portion being manually movable to a releasing position to detach the headgear assembly from the frame,

wherein the first connector portion is one tooth and the second connector portion is a plurality of recesses that lie on a curve, the plurality of recesses being configured for rotationally locking engagement with the tooth, such that the headgear assembly is rotationally adjustable with respect to the frame.

24. A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, comprising:

a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, each side frame member including an integrally formed first connector portion, and

a headgear assembly removably attachable to the frame,

wherein the headgear assembly has a second connector portion adapted to connect to the first connector portion via a bayonet-type connection thereby providing a releasable coupling between the headgear and frame.

25. A respiratory mask assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient, comprising:

a frame having a main body and a side frame member provided on each lateral side of the main body, each side frame member including an integrally formed first connector portion, and

a headgear assembly removably attachable to the frame,

wherein the headgear assembly has a second connector portion adapted to connect to the first connector portion via an insert-and-rotate-type connection thereby providing a releasable coupling between the headgear assembly and frame.
