Abstract

A system and methodology that provide schema inferencing at runtime. An inference component receives as an input an input data stream, and processes the input data stream at runtime to develop a schema based on actual values thereof. The inferred schema is then used to create an inferred output data that is a specialized representation of the input stream data, which can then be accessed efficiently and conveniently.

Claims

1. A system that facilitates data access, comprising:

a stream of input data; and

an inference component that infers a schema from the input data at runtime to create a specialized representation of the input data.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the input data includes an XML document.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the input data is compatible with a context-free language.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the input data is relational.

5. The system of claim 1, further comprising a caching component that facilitates caching of documents during runtime.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the inference component facilitates updating of the schema over time.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the inference component facilitates validating the inferred schema against new input data.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the inference component infers the schema on actual values at runtime.

9. The system of claim 1, further comprising an artificial intelligence component that employs a probabilistic and/or statistical-based analysis to prognose or infer an action that a user desires to be automatically performed.

10. A computer readable medium having stored thereon computer executable instructions for carrying out the system of claim 1.

11. A server that employs the system of claim 1.

12. A computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for performing a method of facilitating data access, the method comprising:

receiving a stream of input data; and

processing the input data with an inference component that infers a type schema therefrom during a runtime process based on actual values.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising performing a caching operation for generation of the schema during the runtime process.

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising updating the inferred schema over time based on changes in predetermined criteria related the input data.

15. The method of claim 12, further comprising caching at least one of the input data, the inferred schema, generated source code, assembly code, and deserialization information during the runtime process.

16. The method of claim 12, further comprising validating the inferred schema against new input data during the runtime process.

17. The method of claim 12, wherein the input data is at least one of an XML document, a context-free language, and relational.

18. A system that facilitates data access, comprising:

means for receiving a stream of input data;

means for processing the input data with an inference component that infers a type schema therefrom during a runtime process based on actual values; and

means for performing a caching operation for generation of the schema during the runtime process.

19. The system of claim 18, further comprising means for updating the inferred schema over time based on changes in predetermined criteria related the input data.

20. The system of claim 18, the means for caching further comprising means for caching at least one of the input data, the inferred schema, generated source code, assembly code, and deserialization information during the runtime process.
