Window unit
First Claim
1. Window unit comprising:
- a window having an inboard surface and an outboard surface; and
a frame, the frame being made up of a basic frame and an additional frame, the basic frame being a separate molding from an elastic material having an abutment surface which abuts against the inboard side of the window and via which it is permanently connected to the window by means of an adhesive, the basic frame further having a connection surface for connection to the additional frame, the additional frame being a separate molding having a connection surface which is coordinated with the connection surface of the basic frame and which is connected to the basic frame.

Abstract
The invention relates to a window unit (10) comprising a window pane (11) and a frame (12). The frame (12) consists of two parts, a basic frame (15) and an additional frame (16). The basic frame (15) has a bearing surface (17) which contacts the window pane (11) to which the frame is permanently fixed by means of an adhesive layer (19) deposited on the bearing surface. The basic frame (15) further comprises a connecting surface (21) for the additional frame (16). Said additional frame (16) in turn also has a connecting surface (21) of the basic frame (15). The two frame parts (15; 16) are removably or permanently joined together via their connecting surfaces (21; 26).

8. A window unit comprising:
-
a window having an inboard surface, an outboard surface and an edge; and
a frame, the frame being adapted for disposition with metallic vehicle body parts and comprising an elastic basic frame and an elastic additional frame, wherein the basic frame is bonded to the inboard surface in a selected predetermined spatial relationship with the edge of the window which compensates for dimensional variation in the window, and wherein the additional frame has an inboard abutment lip, an outboard abutment lip, and a connection surface which is connected to and positioned on a connection surface of the basic frame such that an inboard abutment lip abuts the edge of the window and an outboard abutment lip abuts the metallic vehicle body parts with respect to the edge of the window and the metallic vehicle body parts. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10)
