Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to the creation of an ink font. Based on characteristics of handwritten characters, the collection of characters may be scaled so as to adjust the size of the font to match predefined size values or relationships.

Claims

1. A method for adjusting an input region comprising the steps of:

receiving user input relating to selected characters;

determining an average height of said selected characters in said user input; and

adjusting said input region based on said average height of said selected characters.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein said selected characters include normal characters.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein said selected characters include ascent characters.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein said selected characters include descent characters.

5. The method according to claim 1, said receiving step receiving said user input from a digitizer.

6. A computer readable medium having a program stored thereon for performing the steps according to claim 1.

7. A system for adjusting an input region comprising:

means for receiving user input relating to selected characters;

means for determining an average height of said selected characters in said user input; and

means for adjusting said input region based on said average height of said selected characters.

8. The system according to claim 7, wherein said selected characters include normal characters.

9. The system according to claim 7, wherein said selected characters include ascent characters.

10. The system according to claim 7, wherein said selected characters include descent characters.

11. The system according to claim 7, said means for receiving receives said user input from a digitizer.
