- a heat exchanger couplable to the patient to induce hypothermia in the patient, the heat exchanger being selected from the group consisting of;
at least one pad configured for external engagement with the skin of the patient, and a heat exchange catheter configured for placement in the patient to induce hypothermia in the patient when heat exchange fluid is circulated through the catheter; and
a source of magnesium sulfate engageable with the patient to provide magnesium sulfate thereto for treatment of cardiac arrest or myocardial infarction.
