1. A method for implanting a device in the left atrial appendage of a patient, comprising:
- providing an implantable device having a proximal end and a distal end, the implantable device having a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration;
positioning the implantable device in the left atrial appendage while the device is in its collapsed configuration;
expanding the implantable device in the left atrial appendage to a first position; and
repositioning the implantable device in the left atrial appendage by at least partially collapsing the implantable device and re-expanding the implantable device to a second position within the left atrial appendage.

4. A method for implanting a device in an opening of a patient, comprising:
-
delivering a sheath having a proximal end and a distal end to a location near the opening;
advancing an implantable device through the sheath to the location, the device being outwardly biased to an expanded configuration and being held in a collapsed configuration while being advanced through the sheath;
moving the implantable device out of the distal end of the sheath and into the opening, the implantable device remaining held in a collapsed configuration while positioned in the opening; and
expanding the implantable device at least partially in the opening. - View Dependent Claims (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12)
