Wearable product reading device
First Claim
1. A reading device for reading an interface surface provided on a product item, the interface surface having disposed thereon coded data indicative of an identity of the product item, the reading device including:
- (a) a harness having a finger portion;
(b) a housing coupled to the harness finger portion for mounting on at least one finger of the user in use, the housing including an aperture;
(c) a sensor provided in the housing for sensing at least some of the coded data through the aperture; and
(d) a processor for determining, using at least some of the sensed coded data, product identity data indicative of the identity of the product item.

Abstract
A reading device for reading an interface surface provided on a product item, the interface surface having disposed thereon coded data indicative of an identity of the product item. The reading device includes a harness having a finger portion, and a housing coupled to the harness finger portion for mounting on at least one finger of the user in use. The housing includes an aperture, and a sensor is provided in the housing for sensing at least some of the coded data through the aperture. A processor determines product identity data indicative of the identity of the product item using at least some of the sensed coded data.

18. A method of reading an interface surface provided on a product item, the interface surface having disposed thereon coded data indicative of an identity of the product item, the method including, having a user:
-
(a) wear a reading device including;
a harness having a finger portion;
a housing coupled to the harness finger portion such that the housing is mounted on at least one finger of the user in use, the housing including an aperture;
a sensor provided in the housing; and
a processor; and
(b) position their finger adjacent the interface surface such that the sensor senses at least some of the coded data through the aperture, the processor determining, using at least some of the sensed coded data, product identity data indicative of the identity of the product item. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20)
