Methods and systems for simplified point-and-click data entry
First Claim
1. A system for entering data in a computer application comprising a graphical user interface operative to:
- (i) display a list of first values from which a user may select;
(ii) display, after the user has selected a first value from the list of first values, a list of second values from which the user may select a second value; and
(iii) display a second value increase/decrease feature which the user may engage to incrementally increase or decrease the second value at any point in the data entry process.

Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for entering data into a computer application. The disclosed systems and methods may include a graphical user interface displaying a list of first values from which the user may select; automatically displaying, after selection of a first value from the list of first values, a list of second values from which the user may select; and displaying a second value increase/decrease feature that the user may use at any point in the data entry process to incrementally adjust the selected second value. In one version, the graphical user interface may display a third list of values from which the user may select, along with a third value increase/decrease feature functioning similar to the second value increase/decrease feature. In one aspect, when one of the increase/decrease features is engaged, the graphical user interface may automatically display the list of values corresponding to that particular increase/decrease feature.

14. A method of entering data in a computer application comprising:
-
(i) displaying a list of first values on a graphical user interface;
(ii) selecting a first value;
(iii) displaying a list of second values in increments greater than one on the graphical user interface after selecting one of said first values;
(iv) selecting one of the second values; and
(v) displaying a second value increase/decrease feature that allows the second value to be adjusted in increments of one at any point in the data entry procedure. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)

21. A computer-readable medium which stores a set of instructions which, when executed, performs a method for facilitating the entry of data through a user interface, the computer-readable medium executed by the set of instructions comprising:
-
(i) receiving, on a client, first content data and second content data from a server, the first content data configured to cause a first window to be displayed on the client, the first window requiring the user to enter information into at least one field wherein, to enter information into the at least one field, a second window may be opened using the second content data, the second window being operative to receive data input by the user;
(ii) displaying in the second window a list of first values from which the user may select, and further providing a first value increase/decrease feature allowing the user to incrementally raise or lower the selected first value at any step in the data entry process; and
(iii) automatically displaying in the second window, after the user has selected a first value from the list of first values, a list of second values from which the user may select a second value, and further providing a second value increase/decrease feature allowing the user to incrementally raise or lower the selected second value at any step in the data entry process; and
(iv) transmitting the selected first value and second value from the second window to the server. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25)

26. A system for entering data in a computer application comprising:
-
a graphical user interface operative to;
(i) display a list of first values from which a user may select a first value;
(ii) simultaneously display a list of second values from which the user may select a second value; and
(iii) simultaneously display a second value increase/decrease feature which the user may engage to incrementally increase or decrease the second value at any point in the data entry process; and
(iv) simultaneously display a link that the user may engage to finalize the data entry process. - View Dependent Claims (27)
