forming a first reinforcing member and a second reinforcing member from a suitable reinforcing material; and

a fuselage;
wing assemblies and an empennage operatively coupled to the fuselage; and

a central structural portion comprised of a reinforced, polymer-based material and having a length, a first side and an opposing second side extending along the length;
a first reinforcement member fixedly coupled to the first side; and
a second reinforcement member fixedly coupled to the second side.
