Abstract

A method of managing an on-going interactive event. The method includes transferring statements between participants over a computer network, during a live interactive event, analyzing, by a computer, at least some of the transferred statements, so as to generate feedback on said event and controlling the event responsive to the generated feedback.

Claims

1. A method of managing an on-going interactive event, comprising:

transferring statements between participants over a computer network, during a live interactive event;

analyzing, by a computer, at least some of the transferred statements, so as to generate feedback on said event; and

controlling the event responsive to the generated feedback.

2. A method according to claim 1, wherein the feedback on the event comprises an interaction dynamics state of the event.

3. A method according to claim 1, wherein the feedback on the event comprises statistics regarding the interaction of said participants with said event.

4. A method according to claim 1, wherein the feedback on the event comprises feedback on a participation level in a discussion.

5. A method according to claim 1, wherein analyzing at least some of the transferred statements comprises searching for similar statements.

6. A method according to claim 1, wherein the feedback comprises statements of participants.

7. A method according to claim 6, wherein the feedback comprises questions or comments of participants.

8. A method according to claim 1, wherein the feedback comprises free-form feedback.

9. A method according to claim 1, wherein controlling the event responsive to the generated feedback comprises displaying the feedback to a human operator and controlling by the human operator.

10. A method according to claim 1, wherein controlling the event responsive to the generated feedback comprises controlling automatically by a computer.

11. A method according to claim 1, wherein controlling the event comprises controlling the transfer of statements between participants.

12. A method according to claim 1, wherein controlling the event comprises damping propagation of content generated by a particular participant.

13. A method according to claim 1, wherein controlling the event comprises generating a question or statement for transfer to a plurality of participants.

14. A method according to claim 1, wherein controlling the event comprises performing an act directed at encouraging discussion.

15. A method according to claim 1, wherein the statements include questions, answers and/or comments.

16. A method of managing an event, comprising:

transferring statements between participants of an event;

analyzing at least some of the statements, during the event, using for the analysis of each of the analyzed statements information from a plurality of participants; and

assigning a score to each of the analyzed statements, during the event, responsive to the analysis.

17. A method according to claim 16, wherein the statements include questions, answers and/or comments.

18. A method according to claim 16, wherein assigning the score comprises assigning responsive to ratings given by the participants.

19. A method according to claim 16, wherein analyzing the statements comprises identifying similar statements.

20. A method according to claim 16, comprising filtering the statements responsive to the analysis.

21. A method according to claim 16, wherein assigning the score comprises assigning a score relating to a relevance of the statement.

22. A method according to claim 16, wherein assigning the score comprises assigning a score relating to a style and/or a coherence of the statement.

23. A method according to claim 16, wherein assigning the score comprises determining an amount of attention given to the statement by participants.

24. A method according to claim 16, wherein analyzing the statements comprises determining whether the statements are content related to the event.

25. A method according to claim 16, wherein assigning the score comprises assigning by a computer.

26. A method according to claim 16, wherein assigning the score comprises assigning responsive to an extent of interaction of participants with the statement.

27. A method according to claim 16, comprising displaying the score during the event at a management station of the event.

28. A method according to claim 16, comprising controlling display of statements during the event at a management station of the event, responsive to the score.

29. A method according to claim 16, wherein the score is assigned in real time.

30. A method according to claim 16, wherein the event is time bound.

31. A method of providing feedback from a large audience of participants to a presenter, during an event comprising:

collecting statistics regarding the comprehension level of the participants or problems experienced by the participants during said event; and

displaying said statistics to said presenter, during the event.

32. A method according to claim 31, wherein said statistics relate to interaction between participants.

33. A method according to claim 31, wherein said statistics relate to ranking of participant-generated content by said participants.

34. A method according to claim 31, wherein said statistics relate to rate of information assimilation by said participants.

35. A method of question management in a system having a large plurality of participants, comprising:

receiving a suggested question;

automatically determining whether to expose the question to one or more participants;

automatically selecting a plurality of participants to whom the question is to be exposed, at least one of said plurality of participants not being expected to answer said question;

automatically exposing the question to the selected participants; and

repeating said automatically determining, selecting and exposing to achieve a desired question exposure.

36. A method according to claim 35, wherein said automatically selecting comprises automatically selecting participants responsive to an event time line associated with each participant.

37. A method according to claim 35, wherein said exposing comprises forcing a discussion of said question to have a fixed organization.

38. A method according to claim 35, wherein selecting comprises selecting participants that are expected to have free attention resources for considering said question.

39. A method according to claim 35, wherein said desired question exposure comprises an exposure to a statistical representation of said large plurality of participants.
