1. A surgical instrument for extracting an anastomotic ring device, comprising:

  • (a) a handle;

    (b) an elongate shaft slidably engaged with the handle, the elongate shaft comprising a sleeve; and

    (c) a plurality of ring-engaging fingers, wherein each of the fingers has a proximal end and a distal end, wherein at least a first portion of each finger is housed within the shaft, and wherein a second portion of each finger is configured to engage the anastomotic ring device, wherein the second portion of each finger includes the distal end of each finger;

    wherein the sleeve is operable to slide over the second portion of the fingers, wherein the sleeve and fingers are configured to collapse at least a portion of the anastomotic ring device when the sleeve is slid over the second portion of the fingers and the second portion of the fingers are engaged with the anastomotic ring device.
