1. A method for producing map images of surface sea current velocity vectors, using a system running along a track above a surface of the sea, the method comprising the steps:

  • emitting beams of eletromagnetic waves to the surface from at least two antennas at a distance from each other along a direction of the track and along a direction perpendicular to the track, making an along-track type differential interferometry using electromagnetic waves reflected by the surface, to build up map images of surface sea current velocity vectors, said beam emitting step comprising emitting the beams of electromagnetic waves (LFi, RFi, LAi, RAi, where i=1 and

         2) in a left forward and right forward directions of the track and in a left aft and right aft directions of the track, further making differential interferometries between the beams emitted forward (LFi, RFi, i=1 and

         2) and aft (LAi, RAi, i=1 and

         2) determining values of roll angle and length of an antenna base connecting the at least two antennas, starting from the differential interferometries, and using the values of the roll angle and the length of the antenna base obtained to build up the map images of surface sea current velocity vectors.
