- inserting a portion of an infusion device into a living being, the infusion device comprising;
a body having a body passageway;
a cannula in fluid communication with at least a portion of the body passageway, the cannula having a portion extending from the body, including the portion that is inserted into the living being, and an outer wall that includes a portion that tapers in a downstream direction; and
a septum positioned in the body passageway, the septum having an outer wall that includes a portion that tapers in a downstream direction;
inserting an a straight injection needle through the septum, the injection needle having a length and being straight along the length; and
delivering medication to the living being through the straight injection needle.
