Abstract

Ads are placed in a movie using a graphical interface that enables selecting of the ads from a set of ads, selecting frames of the movie for the ad, and selecting locations in the frames for the ads. Each of the ad and the movie can be a still image, a full motion video, an audio, a graphic or a combination thereof. An executable command may also be a part of the ad that is inserted, the command being selected for execution by a viewer of the ad when the movie is played to the viewer.

Claims

1. A method of placing an ad in a movie, comprising:

selecting the ad from a set of ads,

selecting the location in a frame where the ad is to be placed,

selecting the frames of the movie where the ad is to be placed, and

placing the selected ad in the selected frames at the selected location.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein a graphical user interface enables selecting the ad by manipulating a graphical image representing the ad.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein a graphical user interface enables selecting the location in a frame by manipulating a graphical image representing the frame location.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein a graphical user interface enables selecting the frames by manipulating a graphical image representing the frames of the movie.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the ad selecting is performed by a computer program.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the location selecting in a frame is performed by a computer program.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the frame selecting is performed by a computer program.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the frame selecting is in accordance with a popularity measurement of the frames of the movie.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the popularity measurement is based on the placement of deep tags in the movie by a plurality of users.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising placing an executable command in the selected ad in the selected frames at the selected location, so that a viewer of the selected ad can cause execution of the executable command.

11. A system for placing an ad in a movie, comprising:

a display for

selecting the ad from a set of ads,

selecting the location in a frame where the ad is to be placed,

selecting the frames of the movie where the ad is to be placed, and

a processor for placing the selected ad in the selected frames at the selected location.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the display includes a graphical user interface for selecting the ad by manipulating a graphical image representing the ad.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the display includes a graphical user interface for selecting the location in a frame by manipulating a graphical image representing the frame location.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein the display includes a graphical user interface for selecting the frames by manipulating a graphical image representing the frames of the movie.

15. The system of claim 11, wherein the display includes an image selected by a user to indicate that the ad selecting is performed by a computer program.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein the display includes an image selected by a user to indicate that the location selecting in a frame is performed by a computer program.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein the display includes an image selected by a user to indicate that the frame selecting is performed by a computer program.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the frame selecting is in accordance with a popularity measurement of the frames of the movie.

19. The system of claim 18, wherein the popularity measurement is based on the placement of deep tags in the movie by a plurality of users.

20. The system of claim 11, wherein the display includes an image selected by the user to indicate placing an executable command in the selected ad in the selected frames at the selected location, so that a viewer of the selected ad can cause execution of the executable command.
