Abstract

A method, system, and computer usable code is provided for using a templated pattern to define part types on a web service definition language (WSDL) interface. Applying the templated pattern enables peer services to define a transparent contract between specific WSDL part types. The templated pattern is used to wrap the original business object with the enriched business graph schema. The templated business graph is created by extending the business graph complex type that is provided by the business object framework runtime and adding an element delegating to the original business object.

Claims

1. A method in a data processing system for applying a templated business graph to a business object, the method comprising:

loading a selected set of business objects based on user input;

presenting a plurality of templated business graphs to the user;

receiving a selection of a templated business graph from the plurality of templated business graphs; and

wrapping the set of business objects with the templated business graph to form a templated business object.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

saving the templated business object as an Extensible Markup Language schema.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of templated business graphs is stored in a data structure.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the data structure is accessed over a set of peer web services.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the peer web services operates using web service definition language.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the web service definition language establishes an explicit contract between the peer web services.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the set of business objects created by a user using a business object design tool.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the set of business objects is retrieved from storage.

9. A data processing system comprising:

a bus system;

a communications system connected to the bus system;

a memory connected to the bus system, wherein the memory includes a set of instructions;

a set of business objects;

a plurality of templated business graphs;

an instruction execution unit; and

a processing unit connected to the bus system, wherein the processing unit executes the set of instructions to load a selected set of business objects based on user input;

present a plurality of templated business graphs to the user;

receive a selection of a templated business graph from the plurality of templated business graphs; and

wrap the set of business objects with the templated business graph to form a templated business object.

10. The data processing system of claim 9, further comprising:

a set of instructions to save the templated business object as an Extensible Markup Language schema.

11. The data processing system of claim 9, wherein the plurality of templated business graphs is stored in a data structure.

12. The data processing system of claim 11, wherein the data structure is accessed over a set of peer web services.

13. The data processing system of claim 12, wherein the peer web services operates using web service definition language.

14. The data processing system of claim 13, wherein the web service definition language establishes an explicit contract between the peer web services.

15. The data processing system of claim 9, wherein the set of business objects created by a user using a business object design tool.

16. The data processing system of claim 9, wherein the set of business objects is retrieved from storage.

17. A computer program product comprising:

a computer usable medium including computer usable program code for applying a templated business graph to a business object, the computer program product including;

computer usable program code for loading a selected set of business objects based on user input;

computer usable program code for presenting a plurality of templated business graphs to the user;

computer usable program code for receiving a selection of a templated business graph from the plurality of templated business graphs; and

computer usable program code for wrapping the set of business objects with the templated business graph to form a templated business object.

18. The computer program product of claim 17, further comprising:

computer usable program code for saving the templated business object as an Extensible Markup Language schema.

19. The computer program product of claim 17, wherein the plurality of templated business graphs is stored in a data structure.

20. The computer program product of claim 19, wherein the data structure is accessed over a set of peer web services.

21. The computer program product of claim 20, wherein the peer web services operates using web service definition language.

22. The computer program product of claim 21, wherein the web service definition language establishes an explicit contract between the peer web services.

23. The computer program product of claim 17, wherein the set of business objects created by a user using a business object design tool.

24. The computer program product of claim 17, wherein the set of business objects is retrieved from storage.
