Abstract

A nonstop service system using voting and a method for updating and providing information in the nonstop service system. The nonstop service system includes a plurality of groups of nodes for storing and managing information on the basis of identifiers for distinguishing clients, each group including a plurality of nodes each of which is capable of storing and managing information independently. The nonstop service system further includes a control dispatcher server, which is located between the group of nodes and the clients and manages state information and connection information of the nodes belonging to the plurality of groups of nodes. The control dispatcher server selects a group of nodes corresponding to a client according to an information update and provision request from the client, transmits the information update and provision request to the nodes belonging to the selected group of nodes, and, when information is provided from the nodes, provides information which is selected from the provided information using voting based on a specific criterion such as a currency criterion to the client. According to the present invention, it is possible to invest in constructing an initial service system based on the amount of service use, and it is possible to construct a service system with low costs and high efficiency. Further, a nonstop service system can be efficiently constructed without requiring additional equipment.

Claims

1. A nonstop service system comprising:

a plurality of groups of nodes configured to store and manage information on the basis of identifiers for distinguishing clients, each group including a plurality of nodes each of which is configured to store and manage information independently; and

a control dispatcher server configured to manage state information and connection information of each node belonging to the plurality of groups of nodes, select a group of nodes corresponding to a client according to an information update and provision request from the client, transmit the information update and provision request to the nodes belonging to the group of nodes, and, subsequent to information being provided from the nodes, provide information, which is selected from the provided information based on a specific criterion, to the client.

2. The nonstop service system of claim 1, wherein the specific criterion by which the control dispatcher server is configured to select the information comprises a currency criterion by which information which is updated latest is selected.

3. The nonstop service system of claim 2, wherein the nodes are coupled to one another such that the nodes are synchronized in time.

4. The nonstop service system of claim 1, wherein the identifiers for distinguishing the clients include IDs or telephone numbers of the clients.

5. The nonstop service system of claim 1, wherein the information managed by the control dispatcher server includes:

a node identifier for distinguishing the nodes;

information identifying a group of nodes to which each of the nodes belong;

a node address including ID and port information allowing access to the nodes;

node connection information for maintaining connection with the nodes; and

information including basic statistical information including the total number of node information sets and the number of movements for each node, a load, and a response speed.

6. The nonstop service system of claim 1, wherein the control dispatcher server is configured to remove nodes which do not perform a normal information updating operation.

7. The nonstop service system of claim 6, additionally comprising restoring removed nodes and registering the restored nodes.

8. In a nonstop service system employing a plurality of groups of nodes for storing and managing information on the basis of identifiers for distinguishing clients, each group including a plurality of nodes each of which is configured to store and manage information independently, a method for updating information stored in the nodes, the method comprising:

a) selecting a group of nodes corresponding to a client among the plurality of groups of nodes, according to an information update request from the client;

b) transmitting the information update request from the client to the nodes belonging to the selected group of nodes; and

c) receiving a result of the requested information update from the nodes and transmitting the received result to the client.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein step b) includes removing registration of nodes which are not connected due to failures of the nodes belonging to the selected group of nodes.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein step b) includes removing registration of nodes to which the information update request is not transmitted due to a failure of at least one node belonging to the selected group of nodes.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein step c) includes removing registration of nodes which do not transmit the result of the information update due to a failure, of at least one node belonging to the selected group of nodes.

12. The method of claim 9, additionally comprising restoring removed nodes and registering the restored nodes.

13. The method of claim 8, additionally comprising registering new nodes that are added to the selected group of nodes.

14. In a nonstop service system employing a plurality of groups of nodes for storing and managing information on the basis of identifiers for distinguishing clients, each group including a plurality of nodes each of which is capable of storing and managing information independently, a method for providing information stored in the nodes, the method comprising:

a) selecting a group of nodes corresponding to a client among the plurality of groups of nodes, according to an information provision request from the client;

b) transmitting the information provision request from the client to the nodes belonging to the selected group of nodes;

c) receiving the requested information from the nodes; and

d) providing information, which is selected according to a specific criterion, of the received information.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein specific criterion in the step d) is a currency criterion by which information which is updated latest of the received information is selected.

16. The method of claim 14, wherein step b) includes removing registration of nodes which are not connected due to a failure of the nodes belonging to the selected group of nodes.

17. The method of claim 14, wherein step b) includes removing registration of nodes to which the information provision request is not transmitted due to a failure of at least one node belonging to the selected group of nodes.

18. The method of claim 14, wherein step c) includes removing registration of nodes in which the requested information is not received due to a failure of at least one node belonging to the selected group of nodes.

19. The method of claim 16 additionally comprising restoring removed nodes and registering the restored nodes.

20. The method of claim 14, additionally comprising restoring removed nodes and registering the restored nodes.

21. A system comprising:

means for selecting a group of nodes;

means for transmitting an information update request from a client to the selected group of nodes;

means for receiving a result from the selected group of nodes; and

means for transmitting the received result.
