Abstract

This door (2) is intended for a compartment, such as an aircraft baggage compartment, which door can be moved between a first position, in which it closes an opening of the compartment, and a second position, in which the said opening is accessible.

This door (2) is provided on both sides of the opening of the compartment with guide means (20, 22), so as to guide the door (2) in a substantially vertical translational movement.

Claims

1. A door (2) intended for a compartment, such as an aircraft baggage compartment, which door can be moved between a first position, in which it closes an opening (14) of the compartment, and a second position, in which the said opening is accessible,

the said door (2) is provided, on both sides of the opening (14) of the compartment, with guide means (20, 22, 24), so as to guide the door (2) in a substantially vertical translational movement.

characterized in that the guide means are provided, on each side of the opening (14) of the compartment, with a guide system comprising on the one hand a substantially vertical guide rail (20) forming a projecting male member and on the other hand a slideway (22), whose shape is complementary to that of the rail (20), so as to receive the guide rail (20) and permit sliding movement thereof.

in that the guide means are provided, on each side of the opening (14) of the compartment, with a guide system, and

in that the guide systems (20, 22, 24) extend vertically but with different orientations.

2. A door (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that the guide systems (20, 22, 24) are oriented perpendicular to one another.

3. A door (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that each guide system (20, 22, 24) is additionally provided with an intermediate member (24).

4. A door (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that it is additionally provided on the one hand with means (28;

44) for retracting it into its open position and on the other hand with means (32, 34) for locking it in its closed position.

5. A door (2) according to claim 4, characterized in that the retracting means comprise a metal band (28) that is elastically coiled, at least partly.

6. A door (2) according to claim 4, characterized in that the retracting means comprise a hydraulic and/or pneumatic cylinder (44).

7. A door (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that it is additionally provided with means (36, 38, 40, 42) capable of limiting its sliding speed.

8. A module provided with a seat as well as with a wall surrounding the seat, at least partly, characterized in that it is additionally provided with a baggage compartment, and in that a door (2) according to claim 1 makes it possible to close the access to the said baggage compartment.

9. An aircraft cabin, characterized in that it is provided with at least one module according to claim 8.

10. An aircraft, characterized in that it is provided with at least one module according to claim 8.

11. A door (2) intended for a compartment, such as an aircraft baggage compartment, which door can be moved between a first position, in which it closes an opening (14) of the compartment, and a second position, in which the said opening is accessible,

the said door (2) being provided, on both sides of the opening (14) of the compartment, with guide means (20, 22, 24), so as to guide the door (2) in a substantially vertical translational movement,

characterized in that the guide means comprise, on each side of the opening (14) of the compartment, a guide system, which is composed on the one hand of a substantially vertical guide rail (20) forming a projecting male member and on the other hand of a slideway (22), whose shape is complementary to that of the rail (20), so as to receive the guide rail (20) and permit sliding movement thereof, and

in that each guide system (20, 22, 24) is additionally provided with an intermediate member (24).

12. A door (2) according to claim 11, characterized in that it is additionally provided on the one hand with means (28;

44) for retracting it into its open position and on the other hand with means (32, 34) for locking it in its closed position.

13. A door (2) according to claim 12, characterized in that the retracting means comprise a metal band (28) that is elastically coiled, at least partly.

14. A door (2) according to claim 12, characterized in that the retracting means comprise a hydraulic and/or pneumatic cylinder (44).

15. A door (2) according to claim 11, characterized in that it is additionally provided with means (36, 38, 40, 42) capable of limiting its sliding speed.

16. A module provided with a seat as well as with a wall surrounding the seat, at least partly, characterized in that it is additionally provided with a baggage compartment, and in that a door (2) according to claim 11 makes it possible to close the access to the said baggage compartment.

17. An aircraft cabin, characterized in that it is provided with at least one module according to claim 16.

18. An aircraft, characterized in that it is provided with at least one module according to claim 16.
