Abstract

There is disclosed a mobile germicidal system and a process of decontaminating a wall and a ceiling of a room of undesirable substances. The system comprises a frame, a displacement device and an germicidal lamp. The displacement device is selected from the group comprising a wheel, a castor, a ball, a disk, a drum, a roller, and a traction belt. The displacement device is affixed to the frame. The germicidal lamp is affixed to the frame at a non-vertical incline. The process comprises providing a mobile germicidal system comprising an germicidal lamp having an enclosure having an exposed portion, at least a portion of the exposed portion disposed non-vertically and emitting ultraviolet radiation from the germicidal lamp at a wavelength substantially at 253.7 nm through all points in a horizontal area 6″ directly above the mobile germicidal system while generating an insignificant quantity or less of ozone.

Claims

1. A mobile germicidal system comprising:

a frame

a displacement device selected from the group comprising a wheel, a castor, a ball, a disk, a drum, a roller, and a traction belt, the displacement device affixed to the frame

a germicidal lamp affixed to the frame at a non-vertical incline.

2. The mobile germicidal system of claim 1, wherein at least two germicidal lamps are affixed to the frame at a non-vertical incline, the at least two germicidal lamps are not parallel to each other.

3. The mobile germicidal system of claim 2, wherein the at least two germicidal lamps are adapted to emit radiation through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system.

4. The mobile germicidal system of claim 1, wherein the displacement device is a castor.

5. The mobile germicidal system of claim 1, wherein the frame comprises a lift selected from the group comprising a crane, an elevator, a hoist, a jack, a telescoping member, and a trestle, the germicidal lamp affixed to the lift at a non-vertical incline.

6. The mobile germicidal system of claim 5, wherein the lift is a telescoping member.

7. The mobile germicidal system of claim 1, comprising a plurality of germicidal lamps, each germicidal lamp affixed to the frame at a non-vertical incline, the plurality of germicidal lamps disposed in a conical arrangement.

8. The mobile germicidal system of claim 1, wherein

a plurality of germicidal lamps are affixed to the frame at a non-vertical incline, the plurality of germicidal lamps are not parallel to each other

the plurality of germicidal lamps are adapted to emit radiation through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system

the frame comprises a lift, the plurality of germicidal lamps affixed to the lift at a non-vertical incline

the displacement device is a wheel.

9. The mobile germicidal system of claim 1, wherein

the frame comprises two bases, the two bases vertically separated from each other

the mobile germicidal system comprises two pluralities of germicidal lamps, each plurality of germicidal lamps affixed to the respective base at a non-vertical incline.

10. The mobile germicidal system of claim 9, wherein at least one of the two pluralities of germicidal lamps is disposed in a conical arrangement.

11. The mobile germicidal system of claim 9, wherein one of the two bases is vertically adjustable relative to the other one of the two bases.

12. The mobile germicidal system of claim 9, wherein the two pluralities of germicidal lamps are adapted to emit radiation through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system.

13. The mobile germicidal system of claim 9, wherein the frame comprises a lift selected from the group comprising a crane, an elevator, a hoist, a jack, a telescoping member, and a trestle, one of the two bases affixed to the lift.

14. The mobile germicidal system of claim 13, wherein the lift is a jack.

15. The mobile germicidal system of claim 9, wherein

at least one of the two pluralities of germicidal lamps is disposed in a conical arrangement

the two pluralities of germicidal lamps adapted to emit radiation through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system

the frame comprises a telescoping member, one of the two bases affixed to the telescoping member.

16. A mobile germicidal system comprising:

a frame

a displacement device selected from the group comprising a wheel, a castor, a ball, a disk, a drum, a roller, and a traction belt, the displacement device affixed to the frame

a germicidal lamp affixed to the frame, wherein at least an exposed portion of an enclosure of the germicidal lamp is disposed non-vertically.

17. The mobile germicidal system of claim 16, wherein

a plurality of germicidal lamps are affixed to the frame, at least an exposed portion of the enclosure of each of the germicidal lamps is disposed non-vertically, the plurality of germicidal lamps not parallel to each other

the plurality of germicidal lamps are adapted to emit radiation through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system

the frame comprises a lift, the plurality of germicidal lamps affixed to the lift at a non-vertical incline

the displacement device is a roller.

18. The mobile germicidal system of claim 16, wherein

the frame comprises two bases, the two bases vertically separated from each other

the mobile germicidal system comprises two pluralities of germicidal lamps, each plurality of germicidal lamps affixed to the respective base, at least an exposed portion of the enclosure of each of the electric lamps is disposed non-vertically.

19. The mobile germicidal system of claim 18, wherein

at least one of the two pluralities of germicidal lamps is disposed in a conical arrangement

the two pluralities of germicidal lamps are adapted to emit radiation through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system

the frame comprises a telescoping member, one of the two bases affixed to the telescoping member.

20. A process of decontaminating a wall and a ceiling of a room of undesirable substances comprising:

providing a mobile germicidal system comprising at least two germicidal lamps disposed at a non-vertical incline, the at least two germicidal lamps not parallel to each other

emitting ultraviolet radiation from the at least two germicidal lamps at a wavelength substantially at 253.7 nm through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system while generating an insignificant quantity or less of ozone.

The process of claim 20 further comprising horizontally displacing the mobile germicidal system via a displacement device selected from the group comprising a wheel, a castor, a ball, a disk, a drum, a roller, and a traction belt, the displacement device affixed to a frame of the germicidal system.

22. The process of claim 20 further comprising vertically displacing the at least two germicidal lamps relative to the displacement device via a lift selected from the group comprising a crane, an elevator, a hoist, a jack, a telescoping member and a trestle.

23. A process of decontaminating a wall and a ceiling of a room of undesirable substances comprising:

providing a mobile germicidal system comprising a germicidal lamp having an enclosure having an exposed portion, at least a portion of the exposed portion disposed non-vertically

emitting ultraviolet radiation from the germicidal lamp at a wavelength substantially at 253.7 nm through all points in a horizontal area 6″

directly above the mobile germicidal system while generating an insignificant quantity or less of ozone.

24. The process of claim 23 further comprising horizontally displacing the mobile germicidal system via a displacement device selected from the group comprising a wheel, a castor, a ball, a disk, a drum, a roller, and a traction belt, the displacement device affixed to a frame of the germicidal system.

25. The process of claim 24 further comprising vertically displacing the germicidal lamp relative to the displacement device via a lift selected from the group comprising a crane, an elevator, a hoist, a jack, a telescoping member and a trestle.
