Abstract

In accordance with some embodiments, a plurality of outcomes are generated and used to create a video presentation of representative outcomes. The video presentation is recorded onto a tangible medium (e.g., DVD or CD-ROM) or otherwise provided to a player (e.g., player may access the video presentation online). This allows a player to purchase a video presentation of (e.g., predetermined) outcomes in a jurisdiction in which gambling is legal yet view the presentation at the players convenience (e.g., from any jurisdiction and at any time). The outcomes on the DVD or CD ROM may be viewed on a video display generated by a primary output device (e.g., a personal computer or a DVD player). In addition, the player may purchase or otherwise obtain an accessory device that interacts (e.g., augments the outcomes) with the game play recorded on the tangible medium.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

displaying a plurality of predetermined outcomes with a primary output device of a player;

communicating game data from the primary output device to an accessory device in response to at least one of the plurality of outcomes; and

providing an output from the accessory device in response to the game data.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the primary output device reproduces the plurality of predetermined outcomes for display from a tangible medium.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of predetermined outcomes are stored on a tangible medium.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the tangible medium is at least one of:

a DVD;

a CD-ROM; and

a flash memory.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the output is associated with at least one of the plurality of predetermined outcomes.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the output is provided to a player.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the output makes another accessory operative to receive an input from a player.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the output is provided to another accessory device.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the primary output device is a personal computer.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein a program controls the accessory device.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the program is executed by the personal computer.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein the program is stored on a DVD.

13. The method of claim 10, wherein the output is determined by the program.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the output is determined by at least one of the plurality of predetermined outcomes.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the output completes at least one of the plurality of predetermined outcomes.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein the output modifies at least one of the plurality of predetermined outcomes.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein the output is a visual output.

18. The method of claim 1, wherein the output is an audio output.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein the accessory device comprises at least one of an electromechanical device and an electronic device.

20. The method of claim 1, wherein the accessory device includes a microprocessor in communication with the primary output device.

21. The method of claim 1, wherein communicating game data from the primary output device to an accessory device is through a USB connection.

22. The method of claim 1, wherein the primary output device is a DVD player.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein a signal from the DVD player determines the output of the accessory device.

24. A computer-readable medium storing a program, wherein the program, upon being executed by a device, causes the device to perform the method of claim 1.

25. An apparatus, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory operatively connected to the processor,

the memory storing a program, wherein the processor is operable with the program to;

perform the method of claim 1.
