Abstract

A jig for a flexible substrate comprises a glass plate having a concave portion and a plurality of grooves at periphery of the concave portion. The jig further comprises a plurality of fixing elements inserted in the plurality of grooves to fix the flexible substrate to the glass plate.

Claims

1. A jig for a flexible substrate, comprising:

a glass plate, which has a concave portion and a plurality of grooves at periphery of the concave portion; and

a plurality of fixing elements inserted in the plurality of grooves to fix a flexible substrate to the glass plate.

2. The jig according to claim 1, wherein the concave portion has substantially a same shape and area as the flexible substrate.

3. The jig according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of grooves are formed on corners of the concave portion.

4. The jig according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of grooves are formed on at least two corners of the concave portion and the at least two corners are opposite to each other.

5. The jig according to claim 1, wherein the concave portion partially overlaps the plurality of grooves.

6. The jig according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of fixing elements have a bolt shape and the plurality of grooves have a nut shape.

7. The jig according to claim 6, wherein the plurality of grooves are spaced apart from the concave portion.

8. The jig according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of fixing elements include one of glass and teflon.

9. A jig for a flexible substrate, comprising:

a glass plate;

a concave portion on the glass plate; and

a plurality of protrusions, which protrude from sidewalls of the concave portion,

wherein a flexible substrate is disposed in the concave portion and is fixed using the plurality of protrusions.

10. A jig for a flexible substrate, comprising:

a lower plate, which has a concave portion; and

an upper plate, which has a hole of a smaller size than the concave portion,

wherein the lower plate combines with the upper plate such that the concave portion faces the upper plate.

11. The jig according to claim 10, wherein the lower plate further includes an opening at a sidewall of the concave portion.

12. A jig for flexible substrate, comprising:

a lower plate; and

an upper plate, which has a concave portion and a hole in the concave portion,

wherein the lower plate combines with the upper plate such that the concave portion faces the lower plate.

13. The jig according to claim 12, wherein the upper plate further includes an opening at a sidewall of the concave portion.

14. A method of fabricating a jig for a flexible substrate, comprising:

forming a concave portion in a glass plate; and

forming a plurality of grooves at periphery of the concave portion.

15. A method of fabricating a jig for a flexible substrate, comprising:

forming a concave portion in a glass plate; and

forming a plurality of protrusions protruding from sidewalls of the concave portion.

16. The method according to claim 15, wherein the concave portion and the plurality of protrusions are formed at the same time.

17. A method of fabricating a jig for a flexible substrate, comprising:

forming a concave portion in a lower plate;

forming a hole in an upper plate corresponding to the concave portion; and

combining the lower plate with the upper plate such that the concave portion faces the hole.

18. The method according to claim 17, further comprising a step of forming an opening at a sidewall of the concave portion.

19. A method of fabricating a jig for a flexible substrate, comprising:

forming a concave portion in an upper plate;

forming a hole in the upper plate in the concave portion; and

combining a lower plate with the upper plate such that the concave portion faces the lower plate.

20. The method according to claim 19, further comprising a step of forming an opening at a sidewall of the concave portion.

21. The method according to claim 19, wherein the concave portion and the hole are formed at the same time.

22. A method of fixing a flexible substrate to a glass plate, comprising:

disposing a flexible substrate in a concave portion on a glass plate; and

inserting a plurality of fixing elements in a plurality of grooves at periphery of the concave portion such that each of the plurality of fixing elements overlaps the flexible substrate.

23. A method of fixing a flexible substrate to a glass plate, comprising:

inserting a flexible substrate in a cavity of the glass plate through an opening on a sidewall of the cavity such that a hole of cavity exposes the flexible substrate; and

sealing the opening.

24. A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device using first and second flexible substrates, comprising:

preparing fixing plates having a concave portion and a plurality of grooves at periphery of the concave portion;

disposing a first flexible substrate and a second flexible substrate in the concave portion, respectively;

inserting a plurality of fixing elements in the plurality of grooves such that each of the plurality of fixing elements overlaps the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate, respectively;

forming an array substrate structure on the first flexible substrate;

forming a color filter substrate structure on the second flexible substrate;

separating the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate from the fixing plates;

attaching the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate; and

forming a liquid crystal layer between the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate.

25. The method according to claim 24, wherein the step of forming the array substrate structure includes a step of forming a gate line, a step of forming a data line, a step of a thin film transistor and a step of forming a pixel electrode.

26. The method according to claim 24, wherein the step of forming the color filter substrate structure includes a step of forming a black matrix, a step of forming a color filter and a step of forming a common electrode.

27. A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device using first and second flexible substrates, comprising:

preparing fixing plates having a cavity, a hole of the cavity and an opening on a sidewall of the cavity;

disposing a first flexible substrate and a second flexible substrate in the cavity through the opening such that the hole exposes the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate, respectively;

sealing the opening;

forming an array substrate structure on the first flexible substrate;

forming a color filter substrate structure on the second flexible substrate;

separating the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate from the fixing plates;

attaching the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate; and

forming a liquid crystal layer between the first flexible substrate and the second flexible substrate.

28. The method according to claim 27, wherein the step of forming the array substrate structure includes a step of forming a gate line, a step of forming a data line, a step of a thin film transistor and a step of forming a pixel electrode.

29. The method according to claim 27, wherein the step of forming the color filter substrate structure includes a step of forming a black matrix, a step of forming a color filter and a step of forming a common electrode.
