1. A method of transmitting biometric data from a source to a destination, the method comprising:

  • storing the biometric data in a first data packet having a first checksum at the source, wherein the first data packet is created by a first device;

    encapsulating the first data packet in a second data packet having a second checksum, wherein the second data packet is created by a second device;

    transmitting the second data packet over a network from the source to the destination;

    verifying the accuracy of the second data packet by checking the second checksum at the destination; and

    verifying the accuracy of the first data packet by checking the first checksum at the destination and using a CRC algorithm specific to the first device that is stored at the destination.
