Abstract

Chemical compositions may be selectively or preferentially excited by the application of scores comprising a series of energy inputs.

Claims

1. A method of communicating score information to a user, comprising

selecting a first score comprising a first plurality of energy input descriptors, wherein each energy input descriptor comprises a description of at least one attribute selected from the group consisting of frequency, modulation frequency, phase, amplitude, temporal profile, polarization, direction, and coherence;

applying a selected mapping of the first plurality of energy input descriptors to a first plurality of user-perceivable signals; and

presenting the first plurality of user-perceivable signals to a user.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected mapping of the first plurality of energy input descriptors to the first plurality of user-perceivable signals comprises a mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to an audible tone, and wherein presenting the first plurality of user-perceivable signals to the user comprises playing the audible tones to the user.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to an audible tone comprises a mapping of an attribute description from each energy input descriptor to an audible tone frequency.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the attribute description is a frequency.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to an audible tone comprises a mapping of an attribute description from each energy input descriptor to an audible tone duration.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the attribute description is a duration.

7. The method of claim 2, wherein the mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to an audible tone comprises a mapping of an attribute description to an audible tone timbre.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected mapping of the first plurality of energy input descriptors to the first plurality of user-perceivable signals comprises a mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to a visible symbol, and wherein presenting the first plurality of user-perceivable signals to the user comprises displaying the visible symbols to the user.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to a visible symbol comprises a mapping of an attribute description from each energy input descriptor to a visible color.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the attribute description is a frequency.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to a visible symbol comprises a mapping of an attribute description from each energy input descriptor to a display location.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the attribute description is a duration.

13. The method of claim 8, wherein the mapping of the attribute description of each energy input descriptor to a visible symbol comprises a mapping of an attribute description from each energy input descriptor to a visible shape.

14. The method of claim 1, further comprising

selecting a second score comprising a second plurality of energy input descriptors;

applying the mapping from the second plurality of energy input descriptors to a second plurality of user-perceivable signals; and

presenting the second plurality of user-perceivable signals to a user.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the first plurality of user-perceivable signals and the second plurality of user-perceivable signals are presented to the user concurrently.
