Abstract

Systems and methods provide for embedding white noise signals representing DTMF digits into a voice data stream.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

associating a plurality of white noise signals to a plurality of DTMF events;

detecting a DTMF event in the plurality of DTMF events; and

embedding one of the plurality of white noise signals associated with the DTMF event into a data packet.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising re-associating the plurality of white noise signals to the plurality of DTMF events.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising generating the plurality of white noise signals.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the plurality of white noise signals are generated according to the output of an encryption engine.

5. The method of claim 4, further comprising sending one or more key values used to initialize the encryption engine to a receiving system.

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising receiving one or more key values to initialize the encryption engine.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein embedding one of the white noise signals includes convolving one of the white noise signals with the audio data.

8. A method comprising:

associating a plurality of white noise signals to a plurality of DTMF tones;

receiving a data packet;

determining the presence of a white noise signal from the plurality of white nose signals in the audio data packet;

if the white noise signal is present, then issuing a DTMF tone associated with the white noise signal.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising re-associating the plurality of white noise signals to the plurality of DTMF tones.

10. The method of claim 8, further comprising generating the plurality of white noise signals.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the plurality of white noise signals are generated according to the output of an encryption engine.

12. The method of claim 11, further comprising sending one or more key values used to initialize the encryption engine to a sending system.

13. The method of claim 11, further comprising receiving one or more key values to initialize the encryption engine.

14. The method of claim 8, wherein detecting the presence of one of the white noise signals includes comparing the least significant bits of the data packet with a table of least significant bits of values computed from the white noise signals.

15. A system comprising:

a processor and at least one memory;

a data structure in the memory to associate a plurality of white noise signals with a plurality of DTMF tones; and

an encoding component executed by the processor to detect a DTMF event and to embed an associated white noise signal into a data packet.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the encoding component is further operable to reset the data structure to a second association the plurality of white noise signals to the plurality of DTMF events upon detecting the DTMF event.

17. The system of claim 15, further comprising a cipher engine to read one or more keys and to generate a set of values used to determine the association of the plurality of white noise signal with the DTMF tones in the data structure.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the cipher engine is further operable to generate a set of values used to generate the plurality of white noise signals.

19. A machine-readable medium having machine executable instructions for performing a method, the method comprising:

associating a plurality of white noise signals to a plurality of DTMF events;

detecting a DTMF event in the plurality of DTMF events; and

embedding one of the plurality of white noise signals associated with the DTMF event into a data packet.

20. The machine-readable medium of claim 19, wherein the method further comprises re-associating the plurality of white noise signals to the plurality of DTMF events.

21. The machine-readable medium of claim 19, wherein the method further comprises generating the plurality of white noise signals.

22. The machine-readable medium of claim 21, wherein the plurality of white noise signals are generated according to the output of an encryption engine.

23. The machine-readable medium of claim 22, wherein the method further comprises sending one or more key values to used to initialize the encryption engine to a receiving system.

24. The machine-readable medium of claim 22, wherein the method further comprises receiving one or more key values to initialize the encryption engine.

25. The machine-readable medium of claim 19, wherein embedding one of the white noise signals includes convolving one of the white noise signals with the audio data.
