Abstract

A method for generating information associated with items being serviced comprises receiving information associated with at least one item for servicing, wherein a priority value, a due date and at least one service request are associated with each item and receiving at least one message for each item, wherein a message includes an updated priority value for each item. The method further comprises receiving a status update for each item and generating an icon for each item, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, the due date and the status update for each item.

Claims

1. A method for generating information associated with items being serviced, comprising:

receiving information associated with at least one item for servicing, wherein a priority value, a due date and at least one service request are associated with each item;

receiving at least one message for each item, wherein a message includes an updated priority value for each item;

receiving a status update for each item; and

generating an icon for each item, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, the due date and the status update for each item.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying in a graphical user interface the icon for each item.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first step of receiving comprises:

receiving information associated with at least one item for servicing, wherein a priority value, a due date, a description, an item type, and at least one service request are associated with each item.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising a step, after the first step of receiving, of:

generating a unique identifier for each item.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the step of generating comprises:

generating an icon for each item, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, the due date, the status update, the description, the unique identifier, and the item type for each item.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the second step of receiving comprises:

receiving at least one message for each item, wherein a message includes at least one of an updated priority value for each item, an updated due date for each item and at least one service request for each item.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the step of generating comprises:

generating an icon for each item, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, the updated due date and the status update for each item.

8. The method of claim 2, wherein the third step of receiving comprises:

receiving a status update for each item, wherein the status update includes at least one of a percentage done value and a delay indicator.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the step of generating comprises:

generating an icon for each item, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, the due date, the percentage done value and the delay indicator for each item.

10. The method of claim 2, wherein the step of generating comprises:

generating an icon for each item, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, the due date and the status update for each item using color, placement of the icon and a graphical object.

11. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

executing the generating step and the displaying step when any of an item, a status update and a message are received.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the method for generating information associated with items being serviced comprises a method for generating information associated with items being serviced, wherein an item includes any one of an aircraft, a land vehicle, a water vessel, or any other vehicle.

13. A method for generating information associated with vehicles being serviced, comprising:

receiving information associated with a plurality of vehicles for servicing, wherein a priority value, a due date and at least one service request are associated with each vehicle;

receiving from an operator of a first vehicle at least one message for the first vehicle, wherein a message includes an updated priority value for the first vehicle;

receiving a status update for each vehicle; and

displaying in a graphical user interface an icon for each vehicle, wherein the icon visually indicates the priority value, the updated priority value, if any, the due date and the status update for a vehicle.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein the first step of receiving comprises:

receiving, via an interface, information associated with a plurality of vehicles for servicing, wherein a priority value, a due date, a description, a vehicle type, and at least one service request are associated with each vehicle.

15. The method of claim 14, further comprising a step, after the first step of receiving, of:

generating a unique identifier for each vehicle.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the step of displaying comprises:

displaying in a graphical user interface an icon for each vehicle, wherein the icon visually indicates the priority value, the updated priority value, if any, the due date, the status update, the description, the unique identifier, and the vehicle type for a vehicle.

17. The method of claim 13, wherein the second step of receiving comprises:

receiving from an operator of a first vehicle at least one message for the first vehicle, wherein a message includes at least one of an updated priority value for the first vehicle, an updated due date for the first vehicle and at least one service request for the first vehicle.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the step of displaying comprises:

displaying in a graphical user interface an icon for each vehicle, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, if any, the due date, the updated due date, if any, and the status update for a vehicle

19. The method of claim 13, wherein the third step of receiving comprises:

receiving a status update for each vehicle, wherein the status update includes at least one of a percentage done value and a delay indicator for a vehicle.

20. The method of claim 13, wherein the step of displaying comprises:

displaying in a graphical user interface an icon for each vehicle, wherein the icon visually indicates the priority value, the updated priority value, if any, the due date and at least one of a percentage done value and a delay indicator for a vehicle.

21. The method of claim 13, wherein the step of displaying comprises:

displaying in a graphical user interface an icon for each vehicle, wherein the icon visually indicates the priority value, the updated priority value, if any, the due date and a status update for a vehicle using color, placement of the icon and a graphical object.

22. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

executing the displaying step when any of a vehicle, a status update and a message are received.

23. A system for generating information associated with items being serviced, comprising:

a memory for storing information associated with at least one item for servicing, wherein a priority value, a due date and at least one service request are associated with each item;

a receiver for receiving at least one message for each item, wherein a message includes an updated priority value for each item, and for receiving a status update for each item; and

a processor configured for generating an icon for each item, wherein the icon visually indicates the updated priority value, the due date and the status update for each item.

24. The system of claim 23, further comprising:

a display for displaying in a graphical user interface the icon for each item.

25. The system of claim 24, wherein an item comprises any one of an aircraft, a land vehicle, a water vessel, or any other vehicle.
