Abstract

A system and method for skill-based games of chance where identical cards may be dealt to corresponding positions at different tables. The performance of play of players at corresponding positions at such tables may be compared.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a random card generator; and

a computer;

wherein

said generator is to deal a first set of cards to a plurality of first positions of a plurality of tables and to deal a second set of cards to a plurality of second positions at said plurality of tables; and

said computer is to calculate a performance of card play at a first of said plurality of first positions and a performance of card play at a second of said plurality of first positions.

2. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to determine a winner of said card play as the highest performance among said plurality of first positions.

3. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to allocate winnings among said plurality of first positions proportionate to said performance of card play of said first of said plurality of first positions relative to a performance of card play at said plurality of first positions.

4. The system as in claim 1, comprising a communication system between said first of said plurality of first positions and said second of said plurality of first positions;

wherein a player at said first of said plurality of first positions challenges a player at said second of said plurality of first positions.

5. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to calculate:

said performance of card play at said first of said plurality of first positions in a first hand of play; and

an aggregate of a plurality of performances at said first of said first positions in a plurality of hands of play.

6. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to allocate a number of chips to a first of said plurality of first positions and to allocate said number of chips to said second of said plurality of first positions.

7. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to calculate a variance of said performance of card play at said first of said plurality of first positions from an average performance of card play among said plurality of first positions.

8. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to simulate play of at least one of said plurality of second positions.

9. The system as in claim 1, wherein said generator is to simultaneously deal said first set of cards to said plurality of first positions.

10. The system as in claim 1, wherein said card play comprises poker.

11. The system as in claim 1, wherein said card play comprises blackjack.

12. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to alternate said first position among a plurality of physical positions at said plurality of tables.

13. The system as in claim 1, wherein said generator is to deal said first set of cards to said second of said plurality of first positions at a time subsequent to the time that said generator deals said first set of cards to said first of said plurality of first positions.

14. The system as in claim 1, wherein a number of chips allocated to said first position is increased to match a blind in a round of play.

15. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer simultaneously exposes community cards to said plurality of tables.

16. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to measure an interval between a start of a set of hands of cards and an end of a set of hands of cards.

17. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to select said plurality of first positions as dealer in said first set of cards and said plurality of second positions as dealer in said second set of cards.

19. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to calculate a performance of card play of a player at a plurality of positions at said table.

20. The system as in claim 1, wherein said computer is to grant a bonus hand to a player at said first of said first positions upon said player participating in a pre-determined number of rounds of play.

23. The system as in claim 1, comprising:

a recording device; and

a display;

wherein said recording device is to record

a round of card play of said first of said plurality of first positions, and a round of card play of said second of said plurality of first positions; and

said display is to display said round of card play of said first of said plurality of first positions and said second of said first positions.

24. The system as in claim 1, comprising a card holder to hold a plurality of cards dealt in a plurality of hands.

25. A system comprising:

a random card generator; and

a computer;

wherein;

in a first round of play,

said generator is to deal a first set of cards to a first player at a first position at a table; and

said computer is to record a performance of card play at said first position;

in a second round of play,

said generator is to deal said first set of cards to a second player at said first position; and

said computer is to compare said performance of card play of said first player to a performance of card play of said second player.

26. The system as in claim 25, wherein in said second round of play, said computer is to designate a second position at said table to be said first position.

27. The system as in claim 25, wherein said computer is to grant a bonus hand to said first player upon said first player participating in a pre-determined number of rounds of play.

28. A method comprising:

dealing a first set of cards to a plurality of first positions at a plurality of tables;

dealing a second set of cards to a plurality of second positions at said plurality of tables; and

comparing a performance of play at a first of said plurality of first positions to a performance of play at a second of said plurality of first positions.

29. The method as in claim 28, comprising allocating winnings among said plurality of first positions proportionate to said performance of card play of said first of said plurality of first positions relative to a performance of card play at said plurality of first positions.

30. The method as in claim 28, comprising accepting a challenge from said first of said plurality of first positions to said second of said plurality of first positions.

31. The method as in claim 28, comprising aggregating said performance of play at said first of said plurality of first positions in a first round of play with a performance of play at said first of said plurality of first positions in a plurality of rounds of play.

32. The method as in claim 28, comprising:

allocating a number of chips to said plurality of first positions at said plurality of tables; and

allocating said number of chips to said plurality of second positions at said plurality of tables.

33. The method as in claim 28, comprising calculating a variance of said performance of card play at said first of said plurality of first positions from an average performance of card play among said plurality of first positions.

34. The method as in claim 28, wherein said dealing said first set of cards comprises simultaneously dealing said first set of cards to said plurality of first positions.

35. The method as in claim 28, wherein said dealing said first set of cards comprises dealing said first set of cards to a second of said plurality of first positions at a time subsequent to the time of dealing said first set of cards to said first of said plurality of first positions.

36. The method as in claim 28, comprising measuring an interval between a start of a set of hands of cards and an end of a set of hands of cards.

37. An article comprising a storage medium, having stored thereon instructions, that when executed, result in:

dealing a first set of cards to a plurality of first positions at a plurality of tables;

dealing a second set of cards to a plurality of second positions at said plurality of tables; and

comparing a performance of play at a first of said plurality of first positions to a performance of play at a second of said plurality of first positions.

38. The article as in claim 37, wherein said instructions further result in selecting said plurality of first positions as dealer for a first round and said plurality of second positions as dealer for a second round.

39. The article as in claim 37, wherein said instructions further result in simultaneously exposing community cards to said plurality of tables.
