Abstract

The invention relates to a topical delivery system suitable for application to the lips, comprising at least one naturally occurring oil, at least one naturally occurring wax, and at least one naturally occurring diet aid. The invention also relates to a method for controlling weight in an individual by applying such a composition to the lips.

Claims

1. A topical composition suitable for application to the lips comprising at least one naturally occurring oil, at least one naturally occurring structuring agent and at least one naturally occurring diet aid.

2. The composition of claim 1 which comprises at least 50% by weight of naturally occurring components.

5. The composition of claim 1 wherein said naturally occurring oil is selected from the group consisting of lanolin and lanolin derivatives, straight or branched chain volatile hydrocarbons having from 8 to 20 carbon atoms, nonvolatile hydrocarbons, esters having the formula RCO—

OR′

where RCO represents a carboxylic acid radical and OR′

represents an alcohol residue, fatty alcohols, plant-derived oil, and polyglyceride.

6. The composition of claim 5 wherein said naturally occurring oil is an ester having the formula RCO—

OR′

where RCO represents a carboxylic acid radical and OR′

represents an alcohol residue, a plant-derived oil, or a polyglyceride.

7. The composition of claim 6 wherein said ester is a polyglyceryl-10 polyricinoleate.

8. The composition of claim 6 wherein said plant-derived oil is a castor seed oil.

9. The composition of claim 6 wherein said polyglyceride is obtained or derived from a safflower.

10. The composition of claim 1 wherein said naturally occurring structuring agent is a wax.

11. The composition of claim 9 wherein said wax is selected from the group consisting of a beeswax, a carnauba wax and a candellila wax.

12. The composition of claim 9 wherein the wax is in an amount of about 2 to 20 percent by weight of the composition.

13. The composition of claim 1 wherein the oil is in an amount of about 20 to 90 percent by weight of the composition.

The composition of claim 1 wherein the diet aid is selected from the group consisting of diruretics, mild laxatives, energy boosters, stimulants, agents to increase metabolism, agents to prevent fat storage, agents to burn fat, thermogenic agents, fat reducing agents, appetite suppressants, fragrant sympathetic nervous system-stimulants, relaxants, and agents to reduce stress.

15. The composition of claim 14 wherein the diet aid is a combination of at least a fat reducing agent, an appetite suppressant, a diuretic, an agent to burn fat, and an agent to increase metabolism.

16. The composition of claim 15 wherein the diet aid is a combination of a lecithin, a pine nut (Korean) seed oil, a caralluma fimbriata stem extract, an extract of ribes nigrum, guarana seed extract and isomerized safflower glycerides.

17. The composition of claim 1 wherein the diet aid is in an amount of 0.001 to 10.0 percent by weight of the composition.

18. The composition of claim 1 in the form of a lip gloss, lipstick or lip balm.

24. The composition of claim 1 which comprises at least 50% by weight of naturally occurring components.

3. A method for controlling weight in an individual which comprises applying to the lips of the individual a topical composition suitable for application to the lips comprising at least one naturally occurring oil, at least one naturally occurring wax and at least one naturally occurring diet aid.

A method for delivering a diet aid to an individual which comprises applying to the lips of the individual a topical composition suitable for application to the lips comprising at least one naturally occurring oil, at least one naturally occurring wax and at least one naturally occurring diet aid.

19. A lipstick composition comprising at least one naturally occurring oil, at least one naturally occurring wax, and at least one naturally occurring diet aid component comprising at least one of pine nut (Korean) seed oil, caralluma fimbriata stem extract, and guarana seed extract.

20. The composition of claim 19 further comprising in the diet aid component an extract of ribes nigrum and a lecithin.

22. The composition of claim 19 further comprising in the diet aid component an extract of ribes nigrum and isomerized safflower glycerides.

21. A lip gloss composition comprising at least one naturally occurring oil, at least one naturally occurring wax, and at least one naturally occurring diet aid component comprising at least one of pine nut (Korean) seed oil, caralluma fimbriata stem extract, and guarana seed extract.

23. A topical composition suitable for application to the lips comprising at least one naturally-occurring oil, at least one naturally-occurring wax and at least one naturally-occurring diet aid.
